Verizon iPhone 4 rumors flourish as analyst tips CDMA manufacture in Dec 2010

The CDMA iPhone 4 rumors continue to circulate, with Susquehanna Financial Group analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro latest to speculate on the Verizon version of the Apple smartphone.  According to his latest investor note, his checks with overseas suppliers indicate Apple is on track to produce three million CDMA iPhone 4 handsets in December, with a launch likely to take place in early 2011.

The iPhone is the most satisfying smartphone on AT&T and Verizon, while customers of other carriers are happier with Samsung devices, according to the latest set of JD Power experience surveys. Breaking down the smartphone satisfaction score by each of the four top US carriers for the first time, the new batch of numbers - gathered between February and August this year - indicate Apple's iOS handset is the most rewarding across the two largest networks, though Samsung has made advances since the last survey.

Verizon sold 651,000 iPhone 5 in dying days of Q3

Verizon has quietly confirmed its iPhone 5 sales performance in Q3 2012, with over 650,000 of the latest Apple smartphones sold up until the end of September. Speaking on the carrier's financial results call, CFO Fran Shammo broke down the "6.8m smartphones sold" stat Verizon initially shared into Android and iPhone, with 3.4m of the former and 3.1m of the latter activated in the three month period.

Well this is an interesting bit of news: iDownloadBlog's Jeff Benjamin has discovered that Verizon's iPhone 5 is indeed GSM unlocked. The way he discovered this was by cutting up an AT&T micro SIM card and putting it in his freshly-acquired iPhone 5 from Verizon. To his surprise (and ours), the iPhone picked up an AT&T signal, and he was able to hop onto the carrier's HSPA+ network and do a little bit of surfing.

Earlier this week it was reported that European carriers were stockpiling new nano-SIM cards after the standard had been approved by the ETSI. Speculation followed that Apple was preparing nano-SIM usage for the next iPhone, with one source even claiming that Apple had already designed the next iPhone around its own unapproved nano-SIM standard. Now BGR claims to have heard from carrier sources confirming that the next iPhone will indeed utilize nano-SIMs.
