Verizon Wireless has just sent out a flurry of emails to their current customers. Tomorrow will mark the first day of subscriber-only sales for Big Red's long-awaited iPhone. Sales start at 3 AM Eastern. Only a "Reserved quantity" will be available and everything is on a first-come, first-served basis. Get your coffee brewed now, folks.

Verizon iPhone 4: General reservations Feb 9, Sales Feb 10 from 7am

Apple has confirmed pre-order details for the Verizon iPhone 4, the CDMA version of the Apple smartphone which will go up for sale tomorrow, Thursday February 3. As of tomorrow, existing Verizon subscribers will be able to pre-order the iPhone 4 online; general pre-orders will be taken from February 9, and Apple and Verizon stores will open at 7am local time on Thursday, February 10 for general sales.

Motorola sales dip under Verizon iPhone 4 pressure

Motorola has revealed smartphone sales have already dipped in anticipation of the Verizon iPhone 4, with the company's Q4 performance impacted even before the official announcement had been made. According to CEO Sanjay Jha,"since the announcement of the iPhone, we have seen a little slow down in our sell through of devices at Verizon. There was anticipation of devices coming to Verizon even prior the announcement of the iPhone." However, Jha also suggests that expectations around a flagship Motorola device in Q1 2011 also impacted the previous quarter's sales.

Seemingly activated in the update earlier today, the $199 16GB and $299 32GB purchase links walk you through either setting up a new Verizon account or adding the iPhone 4 to an existing account, together with confirming the various voice, data and messaging plan options.

Verizon iPhone 4 $50 more off-contract than AT&T version

Prior to the Verizon iPhone 4 getting its official launch, at least one analyst speculated that the CDMA smartphone would be more expensive than its AT&T sibling. Unsurprisingly that's turned out not to be the case, at least given how most people will buy the iOS smartphone - with an agreement, it'll be the same $199.99 for the 16GB and $299.99 for the 32GB as the GSM version - however you will have to spend a little more for an off-contract handset.
