In a study done in Millward Brown's annual BrandZ study you'll find four of the top 5 most valuable brands to be tech-related with Apple sitting high atop that list. This study is done showing the brand value of the top companies in the world based on their financial data, market intelligence, and consumer measures of brand equity - all of this coming from Millward Brown. Apple is the top brand on earth with a brand value of $182.9 billion, this up a whopping 19% compared to last year. Read The Full Story

With Nokia’s Lumia 900 launch well underway, I have gotten a lot of questions from the press about Nokia, Microsoft, Nokia’s marketing strategy, Microsoft’s marketing strategy, and its chances of success. The most interesting was a conversation I had with a Finnish journalist. Nokia is extremely important to Finns, accounting for a measurable chunk of the entire country’s GDP, and the perception of Nokia in Finland differs significantly from the rest of the world. I found myself discussing some basic issues about the company and the market that tech journalists from the US and UK just don’t ask. The following is an edited version of our conversation.

Bluegrass Cellular to offer iPhone 4S from May 18th

Bluegrass Cellular has announced that it will begin offering the iPhone 4S on May 18th. The pricing seem to be competitive too, with the phone costing $149 on a new two-year contract. Verizon hard sells LTE Android over iPhone says report

A look into the trends of salespeople in Verizon Stores has discovered that the company may be training its employees to tout the benefits of 4G LTE on Android so that it makes the iPhone pale in comparison, with some sales personnel even being quoted as calling the iPhone "outdated."
