Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 Google Episode announced for CTIA

Samsung has announced their next Unpacked event, this one set to take place at the Autumn edition of CTIA and officially presented together with Google. This is Samsung Mobile Unpacked 2011 "Google Episode" and it seems pretty likely that it'll taste distinctly like vanilla ice cream. Ice Cream Sandwich, that is; the next big version of Android set, quite likely, to be hosted on a Samsung device by the name of Nexus Prime. Sound like a likely scenario to you?

Samsung Unpacked at IFA 2011 Trailer 2 Released [Video]

Samsung Unpacked at IFA 2011 Trailer 2 Released [Video]

While we were pretty darn sure the first (leaked) video for Samsung's upcoming "Unpacked II" event, the second in a line of Unpacked events they're hosting this year at tech events around the world, this second (or first, depending on how you look at it) trailer has us guessing again. A calm summer blue sky, blurry trees, sunlight, some waves pushing in from the sea, an odd bit of metal and plastic connected at the seams -- looking like a weather vane quite possible, a slow moving girl with hair blowing in the wind, a slow moving boy with no shirt on and also some hair blowing in the wind, that same weather vane again, waves, and the phrase "Sketches of Your Desire."

What we've been lucky enough to get a glimpse of today is a teaser video for Samsung's "Unpacked" event at IFA 2011 in Berlin. The video at this very moment appears to have been switched back to Private, but what we've seen is essentially a new version of the Samsung Galaxy S II "light" videos which incidentally revealed to us our very first look at the Galaxy S II back in February. What we're basically betting the farm on here is that this is a slightly updated version of the Samsung Galaxy S II that's able to work with 4G LTE bands.

Gear VR headset released with AT&T and Samsung

This week the folks at Samsung have pushed their Gear VR virtual reality headset to the public as an Innovator Edition. This is akin to the Explorer Edition of Google Glass in that it's not necessarily meant to be a consumer device in the traditional sense. You can buy this VR headset for use with your Galaxy Note 4 through AT&T starting December 12th or straight through Samsung starting this week. This device works with the Galaxy Note 4 exclusively - and you'll need one to make this headset do anything.

Oculus talks Gear VR: “Science fiction made real”

Samsung's Gear VR may have a long and unwieldy official name - the Samsung Gear VR Innovator Edition powered by Oculus - but it's also the result of a lengthy development process, the virtual reality company says. Facebook-owned Oculus and Samsung worked together for a year on the project, with Oculus' John Carmack coming on-stage during Samsung's Unpacked event today to detail the depths the South Korean company gave access to in the Galaxy Note 4 so that the virtual reality HUD would work.
