Vizio Theater 3D HDTVs detailed: 22″ to 71″ Smart TVs

Vizio's VIA Plus Google TV and Android smartphone and tablet aren't the company's only new products for CES 2011; the company also has a fresh range of Theater 3D HDTVs running the gamut of 22- to 71-inches. The passive 3D sets use battery-free glasses, and all models get Vizio's regular VIA apps - including Netflix, Facebook, Amazon Video on Demand, and Yahoo! TV Widgets, among other things - while two sets, the Vizio XVT3D476SV and XVT3D556SV, have Google TV functionality.

We're at Samsung's home entertainment event in NYC this morning, and the company has taken the wraps off of their latest LCD and plasma HDTVs, Blu-ray players - including the world's first portable model with 3D support - and a trio of surround-sound home theater systems.  3D is definitely Samsung's watchword today, with the new 65-inch UN65C8000 ultra-slim LED HDTV ($5,999.99), 50- and 58-inch PN58C680 ($2,299.99) and PN50C680 ($1,599.99) plasma HDTVs and 50-inch PN50C490 ($1,099.99) plasma all 3D-capable and supporting 1080p HD.

It's not just a new range of 3D DLP HDTVs Mitsubishi want to tell us about; the company also have a somewhat more affordable new line-up of sets in their 2010 Unisen Immersive Sound range.  The 40- to 55-inch HDTVs in the new 154 Series, 164 Series and 265 Series each have edge-lit LED backlighting, 120Hz picture, a 16-speaker sound bar and StreamTV for internet-connected Vudu, Flickr, Pandora, Facebook, Twitter and other widgets.

Motorola Backflip official; CLIQ getting Android 2.1; DROID getting Flash 10.1

SlashGear is at Motorola's press conference at CES 2010 today, and the company has just announced the Motorola Backflip.  While they're not mentioning carrier partnerships today, it's worth noting that the Backflip image shown now is the same as AT&T showed earlier today.  Meanwhile Moto also confirmed that the CLIQ (aka the Motorola DEXT) will be upgraded from Android 1.5 to 2.1, and that Adobe Flash 10.1 will be pushed out to the DROID in future releases.
