Hybrid vehicles are all the rage these days. No doubt about that. It's very easy to market them - they're affordable, they get great gas mileage, and they have incredible safety records. But when it comes to actually driving day-to-day with one of these cars, do customers feel like it lived up to the hype? Apparently only about 35% of them do. And as a matter of fact, if you look at non-Prius customers, that number drops to 25%. Read The Full Story

Infiniti LE concept breaks cover in New York

, Apr 6th 2012 Discuss [0]

I've wondered for a long time why it is manufacturers tend to make electric vehicles and hybrids so unattractive. Cars like the Nissan Leaf the Toyota Prius are boring and boxy looking. Thankfully, some companies are starting to come out with hybrids and EVs that are green and good-looking. One of the latest vehicles that falls into the green and attractive range is the Infiniti LE concept that surfaced this week at the New York Auto Show. Read The Full Story

Toyota is teasing a new sedan ahead of its full reveal at the New York International Auto Show, though the company hasn't confirmed whether the sleek, US-designed car is headed to full production. Philippe Starck designs the car haters EV

, Mar 8th 2012 Discuss [0]

Philippe Starck has designed an electric vehicle from the angle of a person who hates cars. Seriously, he hates cars, he said so himself. Apparently, he thinks cars and noisy, dirty, antisocial, masochistic, and bring out the worst in people. Ironically, I rather feel the same way about some designers. The EV looks like something from a 60s moon-themed beach movie. I'm pretty sure Starck wants the owners of this vehicle to die. Read The Full Story

Toyota has long talked about a plug-in version for the Prius that would allow the driver to plug the car in at home and charge the batteries allowing the car to drive for at least a short distance on battery power alone.
