Toshiba TG03 hits GCF: another Windows Phone 7 smartphone?

, Sep 27th 2010 Discuss [0]

Toshiba's TG01 and TG02 hardly set the world alight, but the company could be hoping that they're third time lucky.  A new listing at the Global Certification Forum for the Toshiba TG03 has prompted speculation that this could be the company's first Windows Phone 7 handset, since the last two ran Windows Mobile 6.1 and 6.5. KDDI Toshiba IS02 (aka TG02) hits Japan in June

, Mar 30th 2010 Discuss [1]

It's not just Sharp's new IS01 that's arriving in Japan sometime this year; carrier KDDI has also announced that it will be offering the Toshiba TG02 as the KDDI Toshiba IS02.  First launched at Mobile World Congress last month, the IS02 is a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 smartphone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and 4.1-inch OLED touchscreen; unlike the GSM/UMTS versions demonstrated in Barcelona, however, the KDDI phone will have EVDO Rev.A. Toshiba TG02 and K01 hands-on

, Feb 16th 2010 Discuss [1]

Toshiba's two new Windows Mobile 6.5 devices ended up a little overshadowed by Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 launch, which is a shame since we're hoping the company has learnt its lesson from the mediocre TG01.  One of our biggest complaints was the poor custom UI; that's been replaced with a slick new 3D interface, which looks pretty impressive on the 4.1-inch WVGA display.  It also does duty on the Toshiba K01, which basically takes the TG02 and adds a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Toshiba TG02 and QWERTY K01 pack 1GHz Snapdragon

, Feb 15th 2010 Discuss [0]

Toshiba have outed two new smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2010, and as expected they follow on from their TG01 Snapdragon-based Windows Mobile handset.  The Toshiba TG02 is the most obvious successor, a 9.99mm-thick handset with an expansive 4.1-inch capacitive WVGA touchscreen and a 1GHz processor; the Toshiba K01, meanwhile, has the same 1GHz processor with a 4.1-inch OLED capacitive touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Toshiba TG02 clears FCC, headed to MWC 2010?

, Jan 29th 2010 Discuss [0]

It's been months since we've heard anything about the Toshiba TG02, the successor to the mediocre TG01, but with Mobile World Congress 2010 just over a week away there's some action at the FCC.  A device listed as the Toshiba TG02 has cleared through, and while there are no photos of the handset itself, we do now know what sort of connectivity it will deliver. Toshiba TG02 Makes An Appearance at the WiFi Alliance Website

, Aug 27th 2009 Discuss [0]

The Toshiba TG01 came out awhile back, and while it may not have been the greatest phone to release this year, it did have some promising aspects: like that huge screen and thin framework. But that didn't stop Toshiba from dropping word on the phone's successors, the TG02 and TG03, which were pictured back in April. But now it looks like the Toshiba TG02 has made another appearance. Or has it? Read The Full Story

Toshiba TG01 gets video review

, May 5th 2009 Discuss [0]

The Toshiba TG01 isn't set to reach the market until the summer, but that hasn't stopped PocketPCItalia from getting their hands on the 9.9mm-thick Windows Mobile smartphone and putting it through its paces on video.  The TG01 has a huge 4.1-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen and custom Toshiba GUI; it looks like the company has been doing some work on speeding up the smartphone since we caught it on video back at the London launch. Video review after the cut Read The Full Story

Toshiba’s product roadmap leaked

, Apr 14th 2009 Discuss [0]

If this is authentic, Toshiba has some interesting products lined up through 2010. Techblog.gr leaked a powerpoint slide of Toshiba's product roadmap featuring a few handheld computers featuring the Qualcomm SnapDragon platform. There were prototypes first demoed at CES earlier this year, and from the looks of it, those prototypes are ending up as real products. Read The Full Story
