Tesla Model S gets unveil date; Roadster sold out to November

Tesla have announced the official unveil date of their Model S electric-powered car, the four-door version of the existing Tesla Roadster.  While details on the Model S are currently scarce, we do know that it will use the same high-capacity battery technology as found in its sportier sibling; the new, road-legal prototype will be launched on March 23rd at The Tesla Design Studio inside the SpaceX factory in Hawthorn, California.

Tesla has opened its 100th Supercharger, adding to its network of free recharging points for the Model S, with the end goal of creating a huge infrastructure for electric cars to roam without range-anxiety. Elon Musk pledges to Tesla Museum after Oatmeal Model S review

Tesla's Elon Musk has pledged his further support to the Tesla Museum Project, telling The Oatmeal's Matthew Inman "I would be happy to help" when the cartoonist ended his illustrated review of the Model S with a cheeky request for $8m. Inman, who owns a Model S and describes it as his "magical space car", declared the EV to be the future of transportation, but also took the opportunity to namecheck his pet project to build a museum dedicated to the works of Nikola Tesla, after whom Musk's car company was named.
