Sony made waves recently, posting an image to their Google+ page (seen below) showing an Xperia Z2, branded with a Verizon logo. An Xperia Z2 with Verizon would give Sony a much needed inroad to the US market, but it just isn’t happening. Sony has yanked the picture, and issued a response about the whole kerfuffle.
The United States of America will have their first up-close look at the Sony XPERIA X2 Tablet starting this week. This device was shown earlier this year at Mobile World Congress 2014 where we got our own full hands-on experience. The Wi-fi version of the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet will be launching in the USA first.
Today the smaller version of the Sony Xperia Z2 has surfaced in a number of photos from China. These images suggest that the smartphone will carry a look much like its larger brother, working with some heavily impressive specifications as it’s pushed in this smaller, more compact package.
Would-be Sony Xperia Z2 owners may be left waiting if they didn't preorder the new 2014 flagship smartphone, with a component shortage said to be pushing general availability back into May. The phone, revealed at Mobile World Congress in February, promises 4K video recording and was originally expected in the UK in April, but now the company may only have sufficient stock to satisfy a chunk of preorder customers.
There’s a set of three devices that’ve been revealed over the past week by Sony int he Xperia line of smartphones and tablets for Sony. That is the Sony Xperia M2, the smallest and least powerful of the three, and the Sony Xperia Z2 and Z2 Tablet. These three devices will be rolling out on the top and mid-tier, while the Xperia Z1 Compact is the smallest of the crew.
With the Sony Xperia Z family of devices seeing such success over the past year, it’s no wonder the company decided to delivery a new mid-range entrant this season. With the Sony Xperia M2, Sony brings on what they suggest is the thinnest 4G smartphone in its category. It does indeed seem to deliver a premium experience in a package that won’t break the bank, no record-breaking necessary.
In an effort to keep the quality spread brought on by the Sony Xperia Z last year to the tablet world, Sony introduced the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. This device takes on the high-quality build of Sony’s most recent tablet effort and ushers in the next generation with the Xperia Z2 smartphone. This device works with the same waterproofing features as the Z2 smartphone and knocks out some high-powered innards as well.
