Sony Ivy Bridge Vaio T ultrabook base specs revealed

Sony has started accepting pre-orders on a pair of new ultrabooks we talked about in the past, and specs on a new Ivy Bridge version have surfaced as well. Two of these machines are the Vaio T Series 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch machines. The pre-order ultrabooks are available at German retailers. Specs on base versions of the machines are available. The retailers promise two of the ultrabooks will be available to ship within two weeks. The specifications below come from the official Sony German website.

Sony has officially revealed its first ultrabooks, the Sony VAIO T11 and T13, with a choice of 11.6- or 13.3-inch displays, slick magnesium and aluminum chassis, and optional SSD storage. Promising up to nine hours battery life from the SSD models, the new T11 and T13 VAIOs include full-sized VGA, HDMI and ethernet ports, along with memory card readers and both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports.

Sony nasne PVR squirts TV to VAIO, Vita, PS3 and Xperia

Sony has outed a new universal media tuner and recorder, the Sony nasne, intended for use across its PS3, VAIO computer and smartphone/tablet ranges, and the first step in the newly-harmonized "One Sony" business. A PS3-lookalike with digital terrestrial and satellite tuners along with a 500GB hard-drive for recording shows, nasne will allow Sony tablets, phones or other gadgets to access its recordings across the network, as well as being able to stream live video to up to two devices at once.

Sony has outed its latest 14-inch notebook, the VAIO E Series 14P, not quite an ultrabook but not letting that stop it offer gesture control and 7hr runtime. Measuring in at 22.4mm thick, the 1366 x 768 notebook runs Intel's Core i3-2350M processor paired with 4GB of DDR3 memory and AMD Radeon HD 7670M graphics with 1GB of dedicated VRAM, and comes in black, white or pink.

Sony Vaio VCC111 Chromebook gets FCC support

Sony's flagship Chrome OS-powered computer has just been given the green light by the Federal Communications Commission. This means as far as the regulatory paperwork goes, the device is ready to go on sale in the US, and obviously Sony wouldn't have submitted it to the FCC unless it was essentially ready for production. So hopefully we'll start seeing it on store shelves soon.

Sony has unveiled updated VAIO notebook computers for the spring of 2012. The new machines have new options for the user to choose from, and some of the notebooks get new style and colors as well. The Sony Z Series gets a new carbon fiber silver offering and can be fitted with optional LTE connectivity. The Z also gets new Intel core processor options with i5 and i7 options. The machines start at $1949.99 and include the Power Media Dock drive.

Sony has whipped out a new line of notebook computers that have all sorts of features that folks wanting a thin and portable notebook will appreciate. The new machines are the Vaio S series and the series has a 15.5-inch LCD making them interesting to those needing more space than the typical ultraportable offers. The 15.5-inch screen boasts 1920 x 1080 resolution. Sony says that the new 15.5-inch Vaio S series has all the thinness and performance of the smaller 13.3-inch notebooks.

This 13.1-inch 1600 x 900 notebook runs up to a Core i7-2620M 2.7GHz and weighs just under 1.2kg, all of this available for around $2,286 on pre-order, this magnificent laptop will be hitting doorsteps starting this week! What Sony has for us now is no less than a VAIO Z series laptop torn down and put back together before our eyes by an official Sony engineer!
