Sony's next-gen interchangeable lens cameras, the NEX-5R and NEX-6, will include WiFi connectivity a listing at an Indonesian test agency has revealed. The detail spill came courtesy of POSTEL and was swiftly yanked, but not before Sony Alpha Rumors could snatch a screenshot. Although there was no further detail in either filing, the WiFi tech is expected to be used for wirelessly transferring shots from the camera to nearby computers and cloud galleries, among other things.

Sony has released a new firmware update for their NEX-3 and NEX-5 interchangeable lens cameras, which adds the ability to record in 3D Sweep Panorama mode.  The new mode - which updates the NEX camera's ability to create panoramic photos simply by holding down the shutter release and panning across a scene - outputs images with 3D depth information that can be later shown on compatible Sony 3D HDTVs.

Sony has revealed the new Alpha A77 II DSLR, updating the A77 and A700 with a new autofocus system, BIONZ X processing, and a claimed 20-percent bump in light sensitivity over its predecessor. The new camera now packs a 79-point phase detection AF system and supports up to f/2.8 aperture, while the sensor is 24.3-megapixels as per the old version, albeit with a new structure that Sony claims makes it considerably more precise than the outgoing camera.
