This event invite doesn't offer any clues on what devices will be shown specifically, but based on what rumors and tips we've been privy to this week, there'll be at least a couple of handfuls of smart photo-taking machines you'll want to watch out for.

Sony Xperia Honami appears amid “Lens Cameras”

Sony Xperia Honami appears amid “Lens Cameras”

Several press images have appeared this afternoon with three of Sony's upcoming photo-friendly products in plain view, the first of them being the Sony Xperia Honami. This fabled phablet-sized iteration of the Sony Xperia Z has been tipped to be working with a 5-inch AH-IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels across its front, and it's popping up here with a new Sony "Lens Camera", as leaked by Sony Alpha Rumors, along its back. As you'll see plainly, this showing has Honami's 20-megapixel camera sitting aside this bigger device, more than likely doing not a thing while the Lens Camera aims and fires.

Sony Xperia M5, C5 Ultra puts the focus on photos

Sony Xperia M5, C5 Ultra puts the focus on photos

True enough, Sony did have something in store today, but sadly, it's not a better Xperia flagship. Then again, for some people, these two smartphones might very well be, especially since the OEM doesn't seem to budge away from 1080p screens anyway. But what really makes the Xperia C5 Ultra phablet and the somewhat higher end Xperia M5 special is their cameras. Or, as you might have guessed it, their front cameras, with both smartphones sporting 13 megapixel front facing shooters for the ultimate selfie.

Here are DxO’s ONE iPhone add-on camera samples

Snap-on cameras for smartphones aren't new, but DxO's ONE claims to take mobile photography to another level, and it has the samples to prove it. The iPhone add-on, announced earlier today, justifies its not-inconsiderable $599 preorder price with a 1-inch, 20.3-inch sensor, just like Sony's well-esteemed RX100 III, along with a special SuperRAW mode that promises to do for RAW stills what HDR does for JPEGs. Read on for some samples.

Sony Xperia Z4v coming to America

Sony Xperia Z4v coming to America

Sony announces Xperia Z4v, a device destined in the United States for Verizon alone. This device is the next in line for Xperia devices after the Xpeira Z3 released in 2014. This device is the direct descendant of the Xperia Z3v, the uniquely Verizon-carried edition of the Z3 in the United States. This device has a 5.2-inch Full WQHD "Triluminos" display - that's LED with Sony's "X-Reality" technology, technology they suggest provides a "wider palette of rich, natural colors and enhanced color depth and gradation without risk of over saturation."
