The Sony XPERIA S is the second smartphone released by the manufacture, alongside the XPERIA Ion LTE. Though this version doesn't have 4G LTE, it takes advantage of HSPA+ for up to 21MBps speeds. The most noticeable difference of the XPERIA S was how much thinner it was than the Ion, and of course that see-through glow along the bottom of the casing.

There are many improvements in Sony's XPERIA SmartWarch over the former Sony LiveView - most noticeably the fully featured touchscreen display. The LiveView had side gestures instead. The SmartWatch has retained the underneath clip, and still connects syncs with your phone through Bluetooth.

Sony isn't keeping all the Xperia ion fun to itself: the company also has an international version, the Sony Xperia S, for those outside the US, and while you lose out on LTE you do still get the 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 HD display and 12-megapixel main camera. Set to arrive globally this quarter, the Xperia S has a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 32GB of storage and 1080p HD video recording support, along with quadband UMTS/HSPA.

We've gotten the opportunity this week to first bear witness to AT&T's real dropping of the hammer on the LTE world with six new devices, then one by one we've been allowed to get up close and personal with them - here with the Sony Xperia ion. This device is Sony Ericsson's first LTE enabled device and has no less than one massively impressive 12-megapixel camera. The back facing camera is also able to film 1080p video, while the front-facing camera is capable of 720p video. This device is both sleek and lovely.

Sony Ericsson LT28at AT&T Android phone leaked, 13 megapixel photos included

There's reportedly a device on the way from Sony Ericsson and about to be carried by AT&T which has LTE connectivity, a 4.55-inch 720p display, and a 13 megapixel camera on the back. If that wasn't enough, this device is set to be Sony Ericsson's "big push" into the United States with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, and will more than likely be revealed at CES 2012. This leak comes in two bits, one of them in an "End Product Detail" one-sheet from what appears to be deep inside Sony Ericsson, the other a set of 13 megapixel photos taken with the device's camera.

Sony Ericsson details Android 4.0 upgrades: Kick off March 2012

Sony Ericsson has detailed its Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade plans, with the roll-out of Android 4.0 expected to hit the XPERIA arc S, XPERIA neo V and XPERIA ray first, from the end of March or the beginning of April 2012. The company has promised to upgrade all of its current devices to Ice Cream Sandwich, though it may be near the middle of next year before some users actually see the updated software.
