Sony PlayStation Suite SDK open beta drops April

Sony's PlayStation Suite SDK will be released as an open beta in April 2012, the company has confirmed, allowing developers to create games and content for the PS Vita, as well as PlayStation Certified phones and tablets. Released in closed beta back in November, though only in the US, UK and Japan, the new open beta will broaden support to a greater number of countries. The full version of the SDK, meanwhile, will follow on later in 2012, with an annual fee of $99 for distribution through the PlayStation Store. When it comes to mysterious Sony Ericsson smartphones we're probably most excited about the upcoming Xperia Arc HD, but this leaked MT27i "Pepper" does at least have us curious. Said to have a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 touchscreen and 1GHz dual-core processor, according to Xperia Blog's sources, the MT27i "Pepper" seems to be intended for the mid-range with its 5-megapixel, 720p-capable camera. This week we're getting our fair share of viral marketing from the folks at Sony Ericsson for the device their teasing for CES 2012, and with this newest tease from the group, we've got what appears to be the back, this connected with the rest of the leaks showing off the entirety of the device. What we saw earlier today was photos of the sides and the front of the device, it being a generally candybar-looking smartphone with a lovely stylish metallic strip along the bottom and black plastic around the edges. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc HD caught in wild, benchmarked

Sony Ericsson's teased CES 2012 smartphone, the XPERIA Arc HD (codenamed "Nozomi"), has been caught in the wild and benchmarked already. The Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread smartphone has a 1280 x 720 display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset and, ITProPortal's source confirmed, no expandable memory slot. Sony Ericsson continues its pre-CES teaser campaign, following yesterday’s sheathed device with a quartet of close-ups apparently previewing an HD-capable Android device. “Just a few more days until we can reveal some interesting news” the company says of the mysterious device, which going by the images is close or identical in outward appearance to the existing XPERIA Arc S.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Nozomi (aka Arc HD) spotted in the wild

This week we get our first "in the wild" look at the Sony Ericsson Arc HD, also known by its code-name Sony Ericsson Xperia Nozomi - and it's looking pretty snappy! While the Arc HD name is not 100% set at the moment, we can see here that this phone is pretty close to production, as the tipster dropping this phone to GSM Arena doth state. Inside you'll find Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, the front has a 4.3-inch LCD display at HD resolution - 1280 x 720 pixels, and the rumor is that this masterpiece holds a 1.5GHz dual-core Scorpion processor paired with the Adreno 220 GPU. Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc S benchmarked
