Smart Forspeed Concept Electric Car To Debut in Geneva

Electric cars of the future won't be tame and utilitarian if Fisker's Karma is any indication of what lies ahead. Trying to shake off the hippie image and gain the "cool" factor that appeals to the broader market, electric car manufacturers, including Smart, are pushing for speed. Smart will be debuting a speedy concept car, aptly named Forspeed, at the 2011 International Motor Show in Geneva next month.

An electric car just made its American debut, but not in LA for some movie star proving their “green”. Smart’s first electric car, the Smart ForTwo, has landed in Silver Spring, Maryland. Yup, Maryland. Mindy Kimball, a Major in the Army, is the lucky recipient. Smart is leasing out a fleet of the cars to individuals and corporate/municipal fleets to refine the technology.

Google Nexus One Car Dock tipped in smartphone ROM

The leaked Google Nexus One ROM continues to throw up some interesting tidbits, and after the specification run-down earlier this week there's now news on a potential official accessory for the Android 2.1 smartphone.  Tweakers have been digging through the official headset support list, and have spotted an entry for the "Nexus One Car Dock"; it suggests that Google - or HTC, the ODM behind the Nexus One - will be producing some sort of docking cradle for using the smartphone with Google Maps Navigation.
