Welcome to this week's edition of the SlashGear Week in Review! It was a busy week in the tech world with some major new products landing this week. The new Hanvon HPad A112 surfaced packing Android Froyo, a 3MP camera and a lot more. The tablet has a 7-inch 800 x 600 screen and is 10.8mm thick.
What a week! While a few of us on the R3 crew were rolling around in different parts of the world that weren't Vegas, the bulk were rolling hard at CES 2011! The Consumer Electronics Show had blasts of this, slips of that, and a wacky array of stories and happenings that shall forever go down in the history books as a CES to be clicked with! How ever in the world will we organize all of this information? How about one big monster of a list of links, for starters? Who could we call for such a tast, hm? So much exclusive content, so much time time - I know! The Daily Slash! Get one of the biggest heaping helpings you've ever seen, below!
This isn't the first and it isn't going to be the last roundup post of CES news and info for this season. It's one big thwack. Comb with me, if you will, through the content and devour the ingredients. Joy! PREVIEW: my favorite is the Notion Ink Adam hands-on at CES 2011 - wowie!
Block-circling queues, midnight campers and stores with all the stock wrung out of them: it can only be a new iPhone. Apple's iPhone 4 has landed and it's taking no prisoners. Packing the freshly-released iOS4 with a slimmed-down, powered-up hardware, as ever the promise is not so much ticks on the spec sheet but a superlative user experience. Is the iPhone 4 another home run, or - in a market of rivals it helped motivate - has Apple lost its edge? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.
Apple's iPhone OS 4.0 preview has been and gone, and the aftermath is a much more appealing OS not only for the iPhone but for the new iPad. As anticipated, the biggest draw of today's event was multitasking, with Apple telling us it's taken them four iterations of the iPhone OS to get it just right. Elsewhere there's a new social gaming network for competing with both friends and strangers, a unified inbox and folders for better organising email and apps, and a new iAd advertising platform.
