Google wants Assistant to be its Siri

Google doesn't like to be one-upped by Apple, but by any account that's sort of what happened when the Siri voice recognition platform was introduced. iOS Assistant based on Siri tech, able to access contacts, calendars, and email

Apple's newest mobile operating system by the name of iOS 5 just keeps getting better and better it seems, today being sort of confirmed to be working with Siri technology, Siri being a company Apple purchased last year. Capable but complex infotainment systems built into modern car dashboards are dangerously distracting, a driver safety study has concluded, while voice controlled systems like Apple's Siri have been equally criticized. Hands-free tech intended to maintain a driver's grip on the wheel can, ironically, cause greater cognitive distraction than actually picking up a phone, a study by the AAA and the University of Utah revealed, testing a number of basic tasks like making calls or changing radio station across cars from Toyota, Mercedes, and other marques.

The ad isn't quite a side-by-side comparison, rather Microsoft's attempt to highlight exactly what a Windows Phone 8.1 device with its virtual assistant can do that an iPhone's counterpart service can't.
