The Amazing Spider-Man movie: Dennis Leary talks Captain Stacy, slightly censored

The Amazing Spider-Man movie: Dennis Leary talks Captain Stacy, slightly censored

With The Amazing Spider-Man in theaters this week, it's high time you read up on the making of the film and it's future as spoken by the stars themselves, today's interview being with none other than Dennis Leary. Playing the role of Peter Parker's girlfriend Gwen Stacy's father, Leary lets it be known that he's not letting go of the series as easily as the classic plot-line surrounding his character would suggest. Note that this interview is especially littered with swearwords and spoilers galore, so if you're rather young or don't want to know what happens to Leary's character in the movie specifically, watch out - otherwise dip in on this rather candid talk with the actor.

Men in Black III IMAX 3D Movie Review

Men in Black III IMAX 3D Movie Review

When we spoke with Ken Ralston and Jay Redd of Sony Pictures Imageworks, they described this movie just as it was: a collection of plausible alternate realities. It is at this point in the Men in Black series that they're able to take for granted the fact that most of their audience will have seen a previous installment, Men in Black I or II, and can move forward with the characters to explore new non-origin adventures. This Men in Black takes everything positive from the first two films and hits a home run with not just a fabulous new story, but exquisite visuals and a collection of engaging characters as well.

MIUI Version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich under development now

When you've got the opportunity to improve upon the most advanced version of a software made by one of the biggest tech companies in the entire world, you do it, and that's just what the team responsible for MIUI is doing with Google's Ice Cream Sandwich. MIUI is a ROM, aka the clothing and brains of your device, and outside the one device they've developed across the sea, the only way you can get it on your device is to hack it. What the news is today is that there's a new version in the works, one made specifically for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and like its predecessors, it'll both take all the best bits of the operating system and re-arranges them for a lovely dessert that's without compare.

Banksy’s True Identity Listed on eBay, Subsequently Pulled

Banksy’s True Identity Listed on eBay, Subsequently Pulled

Banksy is a British artist that has recently grown in fame due to some controversial, however well-done short films. The unknown individual, who has kept a secret identity despite his growing fame, is perhaps best known for his spoof on the popular cartoon, The Simpsons. Banksy created a new opening sequence back in October, 2010, that seems to start off normal enough, but then towards the middle gets a bit more "interesting." In an odd turn of events, an eBay seller has put up the "true identity" of Banksy on the popular bidding website, offering the name up for quite a bit of money.

The Cat’s In the Cradle and the PS3

The Cat’s In the Cradle and the PS3

When I was a kid, my dad would clobber me at video games. He's not a gamer. He didn't grow up playing games, and he didn't have much interest once games became popular. But we had an Atari 2600, and I remember spending rainy days playing games with my dad. We would play Basketball, which consisted of two jagged stick figures bouncing a square. I was probably 10 years old, or so. We would play for money. He would beat me out of a month's worth of allowance, then I would cry until he let me welch on our bet. So, obviously when I had a son of my own, I couldn't wait to get him started playing games.

Google TV – An Early Analysis

Google TV – An Early Analysis

I had a chance to get some hands on time with Google TV from both Sony and Logitech. Let's start off and agree that re-inventing the TV experience is a necessary but also incredibly difficult task. Necessary because with the exception of the DVR, television simply has not changed that much in the past 50 years. Yes, we got color, then we got HD; but the overall experience has not drastically changed. Re-invention is in essence what Apple desired and still desires to do, and what Google is now putting a stake in the ground in order to attempt as well.

I say re-inventing the TV experience is difficult, because it is controlled by the service providers like DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, COX, etc. These service providers offer their customers a completely closed system in which to access their content, or premium content. So for a company like Apple or Google to make inroads with a TV experience that is as tightly integrated with a customer's service provider is an uphill battle.
