Samsung's NC20 VIA-based netbook may have been on retailers' shelves since last week, but the company has only just got around to publishing their official product page for the netbook.  No new details have been revealed, aside from the official runtime estimate of "up to 6hrs" from the standard 6-cell battery. , Apr 3rd 2009 Discuss [0]

All eyes may be on Samsung's latest 10-inch netbooks right now - the N110, N120 and N310 - but we shouldn't forget the company's VIA Nano marvel.  The Samsung NC20 is a slightly larger machine, at 12.1-inches WXGA, and uses the VIA Nano U2250 1.3GHz processor; it's now on sale at Newegg, priced at $549.99. Samsung NC20 gets reviewed, benchmarked, liked

, Mar 5th 2009 Discuss [0]

It didn't take LaptopMag long to make up their mind over the Samsung NC20, but then we've known about this VIA-based 12-inch netbook for so long that it might prove tough finding anyone still on the fence.  Obviously it's bigger and heavier than the NC10 - but then it has a larger display, keyboard and trackpad, too - but what we all really want to know is how well the VIA Nano U2250 processor and Chrome9 HC3 integrated graphics stand up. Samsung NC20 gets March 16th US release

, Mar 3rd 2009 Discuss [0]

Samsung's NC20 was officially announced last week, and the VIA Nano-based netbook has already landed - albeit in Korean rather than US form - on LaptopMag's test bench.  With a 12-inch display it's sitting squarely at what some would consider the netbook/ultraportable crossover point, which gives the Nano CPU plenty to live up to. SlashGear Week in Review – Week 9 2009

, Mar 1st 2009 Discuss [0]

After cellphones had their way with the headlines the previous week, the past seven days have been an opportunity for netbooks to race back into the spotlight.  Rumors spread about ASUS’ upcoming Eee PC “Shell” luxury follow-up to the S101, while we saw a slimline version of the Acer Aspire One.  If you want a machine in the more immediate future, though, the Samsung NC20 was made official, and Dell finally launched their Inspiron Mini 10.

Samsung NC20 with VIA Nano gets official

, Feb 27th 2009 Discuss [0]

In one of those moments where you forget exactly what's official news and what's simply been confirmed in a roundabout way, VIA have gleefully announced that the Samsung NC20 12.1-inch netbook uses their VIA Nano platform.  While we knew this all the way back in December 2008, and then again in previews and in pre-orders, we'll forgive Samsung and VIA simply because the NC20 looks such a promising machine.   Full confirmed Samsung NC20 specs after the cut Read The Full Story

11.6-inch Netbook surge predicted: Acer & ASUS to lead the way

, Feb 25th 2009 Discuss [1]

Perhaps it's the inevitable next step, or maybe it's just more segment separation until we all get sick and go home, but reports are coming out of the LCD markets that demand for 11.6-inch panels has risen sharply.  That's led many to assume that the key netbook players are ramping up to produce 11.6-inch models, taking on the Dell Inspiron Mini 12 and Samsung NC20. Samsung NC20 gets video unboxing

, Feb 13th 2009 Discuss [0]

We've already heard enough about the Samsung NC20 to perk our interest - HD support and 6hrs runtime out of the box will do that - but it's taken until now to see the 12.1-inch budget ultraportable appear on video.  NetbookNews have an impromptu unboxing and some early first impressions of the NC20; benchmarks will follow, but for now Sascha tells us that "the Intel Atom got a real competitor."   Check out the NC20 unboxing video after the cut Read The Full Story

Acer Aspire One D150 video preview: great battery, poor keyboard

, Feb 8th 2009 Discuss [0]

After the impromptu 10-inch Acer Aspire One unboxing on Friday ended with the ominous suggestion that the new netbook feels "cheaper" than its predecessor, we now have a hands-on demo video to entertain us.  It's potentially bittersweet for anybody particularly looking forward to this budget ultraportable: while there are some genuinely positive aspects - the huge battery, for one - there's also disappointment to be had regarding both its look and feel. Dell Inspiron Mini 12 facing axe?

, Feb 8th 2009 Discuss [3]

Dell has suspended shipments of the Inspiron Mini 12 netbook, at least that's the latest rumor from DigiTimes.  According to their sources, the 12.1-inch budget ultraportable - which uses Intel's Atom Z530 processor - could be discontinued, leaving Samsung the only vendor with a 12-inch netbook.  Read The Full Story
