There's a brand new Galaxy Tab in town, this one created in Germany with a new form factor that does a bit of sidestepping like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N did late last year. Regardless of this, it does have the long awaited (by me) forward-facing speaker upgrade, this being the biggest change between it and its 7.0 non-N edition. Inside you'll be getting Android 3.2 Honeycomb right out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich update in the pipeline.

Apple and Samsung have been embroiled in a worldwide legal battle for months regarding the South Korean manufacturer's smartphones and tablets infringing on the Cupertino company's designs and patents. Documents have surfaced today revealing that in seeking to ban Samsung's devices, Apple had to provide design workarounds to clarify exactly what sorts of designs would not be considered infringing. Apple’s “clearly wrong” Aussie Samsung tablet ban overturned

Apple's sales injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Australia has been overthrown, with an appeals court dismissing the original block as "clearly wrong" and allowing the Android slate to go on sale this Friday. The Cupertino company secured a short stay until the end of the week so that it could ready an appeal of its own, but was told by the Sydney court that if it wanted to extend the tablet ban - handed down in October when Apple convinced a judge that Samsung had "slavishly copied" its iPad design - it would need to convince the High Court.

Samsung's tablet workaround in Germany has made it into stores and into reviewers' hands, with the Galaxy Tab 10.1N bearing a new bezel design to bypass Apple's injunction. German would-be tableteers hoping for a slice of Samsung's original Galaxy Tab 10.1 had been frustrated, after Apple managed to secure a preliminary sales injunction based on claimed design similarities between it and the iPad. It would appear that amongst the software and hardware releases Google has detailed this week is their first giant iPad competitor in the Google Nexus 10. At first glance the differences might not be abundant to an everyday average user other than the obvious Android vs iOS and feel of each device.
