Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet tipped for MWC 2013

Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet tipped for MWC 2013

In less than a month we'll be seeing a brand new collection of devices prepared for the masses at Mobile World Congress 2013, and today's tip suggests that a Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (8-inch tablet) will be amongst them. With two sizes of Samsung Galaxy Note out on the market besides the first 10.1-inch tablet Note, it's not too much of a stretch to think Samsung wouldn't also bring on an 8-inch version of this S-Pen-toting lineup. This machine has today been connected to previous leaks of device codename GT-N5100, spoken about in the past as a 7 or 7.7-inch beast that's never seen the light of day.

Vodafone Netherlands outs Galaxy S6, Galaxy S Edge names

We had quite a few rumors about HTC's MWC 2015 contender the past few days. Now it's time to turn our gaze back to Samsung's tag team. While there is very little doubt as to what the flagship will be named, which will be the Galaxy S6, we're now seeing some indication that its curved edge variant might be named a wee bit differently. Vodafone Netherlands has, accidentally or otherwise, put up a placeholder page for the Galaxy S6 and in the page's source code also lies the name of the Galaxy S Edge.

Galaxy S6 might not be waterproof, but Galaxy S6 Active will be

Rumors about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 continue to pile up, but the latest ones seem to be sending mixed messages to both fans and onlookers. The latest word on the rumor mill is that the next Samsung flagship won't be flaunting a high waterproof rating, unlike the Galaxy S5 before it. Instead, that feature will be bequeathed on what would be the Galaxy S6 Active, which will be seeing a return to the lineup this year and adding to the number of rumored Galaxy S6 variants.

AnTuTu 2014 charts: Xiaomi tops, Samsung dominates

AnTuTu 2014 charts: Xiaomi tops, Samsung dominates

With January almost halfway through, AnTuTu is releasing some interesting numbers for 2014. Although it isn't surprising to see Samsung's smartphones take up four slots in 2014's top 10, despite slumps in profits and sales, the charts do have a few unexpected revelations. While we have indeed seen the rise of Chinese manufacturers in the global smarpthone market, the inclusion of rather small players like OnePlus into the top 10 most popular smartphones is quite unexpected and perhaps hints at the changing tastes of consumers.

Galaxy S6 fingerprint scanner may be more like Touch ID

Galaxy S6 fingerprint scanner may be more like Touch ID

Samsung’s Galaxy S6 flagship will have a new fingerprint scanner, according to sources. Rather than sliding your finger across the button, you’ll reportedly have the ability to rest a finger on top, ala Touch ID. The new functionality will make one-handed use much simpler; a big knock on Samsung’s fingerprint scanning tech when they introduced it on the Galaxy S5 in 2014. Since then, Samsung has implemented the hardware on several top-end handsets like the Note 4 and Edge as well as the Galaxy S5 mini.
