While Google's Nexus devices have already been confirmed to be some of the first phones to get patched for the recent Android vulnerability Stagefright, other major devices, especially Samsung's flagships, are still at risk. While there's still no word on when the company's newest models, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge will get updated, a number of their older phones are getting fixes today from carriers Verizon and T-Mobile, including the Galaxy S5, Note 4, and Note Edge.

Galaxy S6 Edge Plus tipped to support optional keyboard accessory

The leaks of images and info about Samsung's Galaxy S6 Edge Plus and Galaxy Note 5 have been practically non-stop over the last few weeks, and with the official launch taking place later this week, there's no sign of them slowing down. One of the latest is actually of an interesting accessory for the S6 Edge Plus: a cover featuring a physical keyboard. This would be the first such accessory from Samsung for one of its devices, and it clearly draws comparisons to BlackBerrys, PDAs, and other devices of recent history.

This latest bit comes from China again, revealing the two upcoming smartphones in all their retail glory. Of course, we can't really be sure about their accuracy, but they do seem to match everything we've heard or seen so far. And sadly, they do also confirm some of what we've feared, at least for the Galaxy Note 5.

Galaxy S6 and Edge prices drops begin to take effect in USA

Samsung's price cuts for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have begun to take effect near the eve of the reveal of the Galaxy Note 5. This was foretold by Samsung itself, as the company's last quarterly earnings report revealed lackluster sales of both devices. While it was suggested that sales didn't add up because of manufacturing difficulties, the results are these: one hundred dollars knocked off the prices of either device in the market, starting in the United States with T-Mobile USA.

Galaxy Note 5 event may have a tablet, too

A teaser has been released by Samsung for the next big "Unpacked" event showing not just the Galaxy Note 5 and larger "Edge", but a tablet too. This larger tablet is likely a 7-inch tablet made to take on the likes of the missing 7-inch spot in Google's collection and the iPad mini. Whether or not it will have an S Pen is moot - though the non-appearance of a stylus popping out in this teaser seems to suggest it'll be without.

Galaxy S6 price cuts begin as Note 5 about to be revealed

While Samsung made it clear late last week that price cuts were coming on their latest flagship phones, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the company hasn't wasted any time. Europe has already seen discounts of over $100 applied to the devices, when both models are barely four months old. The S6 and S6 Edge were heavily promoted, and while they were well reviewed by critics, they didn't sell as well as expected, coming as a major surprise to Samsung. Now they've taken abrupt action to make up for their poor quarterly earnings.

Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge+ gets an early hands-on leak

Galaxy Note 5, S6 edge+ gets an early hands-on leak

From time to time, Samsung lets a few retailers get a privileged preview of upcoming devices, which then become fountains of leaks and rumors. Sounds almost counterproductive if you're trying to keep a lid on things. That's exactly what a certain retail shop owner is claiming on Reddit, having gotten some very early hands on time with Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 edge+, expected to arrive next week. Fortunately, he was generous enough to share perhaps what shouldn't be shared, though do always take leaks with a grain of salt.

The Gear A will have a rotating bezel, Samsung confirms

While all eyes are on the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+ for next month's Samsung event, there is one little guy that will also be vying for the spotlight. And by little, we mean smartwatch size. Yes, the Gear A/Orbis might also be making a debut in two weeks time and it might be Samsung's most significant smartwatch yet. Unless you consider its other smartwatches significant. And no, it won't be because of the stubborn Tizen OS inside. This time, it's all about the bezels.

Galaxy Note 5 release may see price cuts to S6 and Edge

Galaxy Note 5 release may see price cuts to S6 and Edge

Samsung is set to reveal the Galaxy Note 5 on the 13th of August, and along with it, price "adjustments" for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Speaking this week on their Q2 2015 earnings, Samsung suggested that they'll be adjusting, or dropping, that is to say, prices for their two hero smartphones. This is due to the less-than-stellar sales of both devices, and likely a prepared punch to the events set to take place in the middle of next month, right alongside the Note and the larger S6 Edge Plus.
