The 2-in-1 isn’t a new platform, but it is a questionable one. Do you need a computer that snaps off into a tablet? The genre has its use cases, and Acer hopes to make a strong entry into the forum with their Aspire 10, a tablet-cum-computer offering that strikes a balance. With a 10-inch screen, the Aspire Switch 10 is an appropriately sized tablet, but does it work as a laptop, too?
This week an FCC listing for a smaller Samsung Gear device appears to fit in well with the possibility of an Android Wear device for the near future. While Samsung has worked with smart watches before - with the Galaxy Gear, the Gear 2, and the Gear Fit - this would be the company’s launch in with the rest of the Android Wear devices this late Summer.
Samsung's next S-Pen powered phablet will be due for an announcement in a few months but instead of what S Pen features will be debuting, it seems that most people are more interested in what screen it will be carrying. If both of these links ring true, then we might be looking at a Galaxy Note 4 that has the same 5.7 inches of its predecessor, but a significantly higher QHD resolution.
This week Samsung has revealed a couple new tablets, both with the name Galaxy Tab S, ready to fall in and create even more confusion for those of you out there trying to tell the difference between models. Huawei isn't waiting around for US carriers to embrace its phones, instead launching a new plan to offer them direct and unlocked to users, with the Ascend Mate2 4G the first example. The new store will offer not only Huawei devices with no carrier affiliation (beyond the fact that they're GSM, not CDMA, so won't work on Verizon for instance) but accessories, bundle deals pairing phones and pre-paid SIMs, and be the new home for Huawei's customer services.
The rivalry between Korean companies Samsung and LG might once again reach a high point soon. A batch of leaked photos have come out showing what is supposedly the Galaxy F, the other name for the rumored Galaxy S5 Prime, sporting a seemingly brushed metal rear, just after LG unveiled the G3 with a similar, but rather deceptive, design.
Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S lineup is being primed for the world, and new retail images of the larger 10.5-inch tablet have leaked. Showing the same aesthetic Samsung fans will love, the new tablet is also sporting the AMOLED screen Samsung made popular on their smartphones. That brilliant screen is fronting some peculiar other specs, though.
Samsung’s Tizen operating system was a long time coming, but now that it has — it’s taking over much of Samsung’s lineup. Their recent Galaxy Gear update usurped Android for the new linux-based OS, and now the’ve branched into the living room. A new Tizen-powered TV is being shown off by Samsung, using motion controls for navigating the menus.
