A new Samsung teaser has set the smartphone cat among the pigeons, triggering speculation of an early unveil of the Galaxy S5 though a Taiwanese device now seems more likely. Samsung Taiwan showed a Galaxy Gear smartwatch displaying "13:00, Mon, Dec 9" in a mysterious teaser video it posted yesterday. A Monday reveal would have put the Galaxy S5 well over two months ahead of the currently estimated late-February range -- on or about the 2014 installment of Mobile World Congress taking place Feb. 24th-27, 2014. Samsung Glass design filing tips growing wearable ambitions

A potential design for Samsung's rumored Google Glass rival has been revealed in a Korean filing, a sports- and media-centric wearable complete with a monocular eyepiece. Samsung's "sports glasses" would apparently have fixed lenses, according to the design filing spotted by the WSJ, rather than the interchangeable visors of Google's Glass Explorer Edition, as well as more traditional earpieces for music playback.

Samsung Gear Glass tipped for 2014

Samsung will launch a Google Glass rival, currently dubbed the Galaxy Gear Glass, sometime in Q2 2014 an insider claims, supposedly expanding its wearable family with a head-worn computer. The work-in-progress gadget is expected to arrive in April or May next year, according to Eldar Murtazin, following up the Galaxy Gear smartwatch which Samsung launched in Berlin last month. Although still unconfirmed by Samsung itself, the teased device needn't be too far from what Samsung has already developed for the wrist.
