CaddyTrek robotic golf caddy is awesome technology for a boring product

, Mar 19th 2012 Discuss [0]

The CaddyTrek is a pretty cool product. It's designed so that you don't have to carry your golf clubs around an entire 18-hole golf course. Instead, your bag is carried by an autonomous wheeled contraption that can sense your movements from behind and follow you from hole to hole. It is a way to reduce the physical demand of what is already one of the least physically demanding sports out there. Read The Full Story

iRobot and TI team up to work on our inevitable downfall

, Mar 12th 2012 Discuss [0]

We’re not quite at the point where Cylons are going to murder us all in our sleep, but we’re moving in that direction rather quickly. iRobot and Texas Instruments have announced a partnership that will see OMAP chips working their way into future iRobot products. Read The Full Story

Navy humanoid robot can put out fires

, Mar 7th 2012 Discuss [0]

A firefighting robot is actually not that new of an idea. When you think about the benefits of building a robot, sticking it into places where humans cannot safely traverse is pretty much the first concept. However, creating a robot that can put out fires and actually walks around like a normal human is something that could be revolutionary. Read The Full Story

iRobot Warrior robot can lift 150 pounds, uses an Xbox controller

, Feb 8th 2012 Discuss [0]

This guy eats Roombas for breakfast. It's called the Warrior, it weighs 450 pounds, and it can carry stuff, destroy stuff, or do stuff (like opening a door). Although you won't find this bad boy at Sears anytime soon, it is created by the same company everyone knows and loves for the Roomba and Scooba floor-cleaning robots. But iRobot's reach has long extended beyond the domesticated fare. This latest creation is the newest in its history of offering military-grade robotics. Read The Full Story

LG to show off new Roboking VR6180VMC robotic vacuum with cameras and smartphone control at IFA 2011

, Aug 30th 2011 Discuss [2]

LG will show off a cool new robotic vacuum cleaner at IFA 2011 called the Roboking VR680VMNC. It remains me more than a little of the Toshiba robot vacuum that I talked about a few days ago. The LG offering has three cameras and a host of sensors that help it to navigate your home and clean things up. The coolest thing is that the LG Roboking vacuum can be controlled remotely. Toshiba debuts new Smarbo robot vacuum to battle Roomba

, Aug 25th 2011 Discuss [1]

Vacuuming really sucks. It's no fun and I think if most of us could find a way to get out of vacuuming the floors at home we would. There are a few robot vacuums on the market already with Roomba being the most common. Toshiba has announced a new robot vacuum for Japan called the Smarbo and it's aimed at home users. The robot has some interesting features and one of the coolest is that it has two CPUs. Read The Full Story

Grabby robot satellite could clean up space junk

, Aug 12th 2011 Discuss [4]

Space may look cavernously empty, but in actual fact there's a growing cloud of debris surround the Earth from previous manned and unmanned missions, progressively presenting an increasing risk to further exploration. Now scientists have come up with the space equivalent of a Roomba, only instead of sucking up junk it would grab it, glue a rocket to it, and then send it hurtling to the Earth's atmosphere where it would - so the theory goes - harmlessly burn up on re-entry. LG VR6172LVM robot vacuum cleaner will diagnose itself and tell you what to fix

, Jul 4th 2011 Discuss [1]

Robot vacuum cleaners are very cool little devices that have been around for a long time now. The Roomba was my first experience with one of these things and it worked surprisingly well. There are all sorts of robot vacuums now from different companies. The most recent offering we took a hands on look at was the Neato XV-15 vacuum. Chris found the little vacuum expensive, but a solid choice if you want a robot vacuum. Read The Full Story

Neato XV-15 Robot Vacuum Review

, Jun 27th 2011 Discuss [4]

Lay down your Dyson, unplug your Hoover and send Henry to the knackers’ yard. Fresh from showing how much it sucks in the US, Neato‘s XV-15 robotic vacuum cleaner is on its way to Europe to assassinate dust bunnies there, too. Meaner looking than a Roomba, according to Neato the XV-15 is cleverer than its rivals too, fighting dirt not only with suction but with lasers. Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Eclipsion wall clock gives approximate time only

, May 6th 2011 Discuss [0]

The geek and design world has its fair share of odd clocks and wristwatches. Generally, the things are very hard to read, and if you need the exact time, you may be out of luck. If you only need to know that it's about 4:30 and not that it's 4:35 you can get by with most of these clocks and watches though. A new wall clock concept has surfaced from designer Jay Jiwoong Baek and its cool looking. The Eclipsion Wall clock reminds me of what a Tokyoflash wall clock might look like. Read The Full Story

Puppy Vacuum Cleaner is the sort of vacuum every kid wants

, May 5th 2011 Discuss [1]

My daughter is an animal person through and through. She loves dogs and horses the most though. This new concept vacuum cleaner that turned up on Yanko Design today is exactly the sort of thing she would flip over. I'm sort of glad it’s a concept or I would end up having to buy it. The vacuum is called the Puppy Robotic Vacuum Cleaner. It was designed by Hyun-Seok Kim and has a mama dog with power teats for the little ones. Read The Full Story
