Welcome to Thursday evening folks - just one more day until the weekend is officially here. iOS 6 has been out for a little more than a day now, and while there are a lot of new features to get excited about, Apple's new Maps app seems to be spoiling the party. Many are bummed that Apple Maps doesn't feature public transportation routes like Google Maps, and a group of developers set out to solve that problem with a new hack. Meanwhile, Nokia took a few shots at Apple Maps today, and we found out that iOS 6 landed on 15% of all Apple devices within the first 24 hours of release.

Instead of calling it "iPhone Day" we're just going to call it Apple day. Today Apple took the stage and got everyone excited over the brand new 4-inch iPhone 5. Then in a flash we were talking about iPod Touch and Nano's. Many speculated new iPod devices were coming, but most said they'd be at a later date. iPhone 5 event wrap-up: details and onsite photos

It's iPhone 5 day and Apple has revealed not just the new smartphone, but a flurry of iPod devices and a brand new set of earbuds called EarPods to boot. The iPhone 5 is set to be released on the 21st of September with pre-orders starting this Friday, the 14th of September, and it'll cost the same as the iPhone 4S has costed up to this point, starting at $199 for the 16GB iteration of the phone. This update includes a 4-inch Retina display, a new Lightning dock connector, and the thinnest and lightest body for an iPhone yet despite its increased height. Retina MacBook Pro 13-inch and iMacs being shipped by suppliers now

This week may be all about the iPhone 5, but Apple is apparently gearing up for other launches a little more silently. According to DigiTimes, which has spoken to sources from Apple's "upstream supply chain," the company's suppliers have started shipping a new line of iMac all-in-ones and and the new MacBook Pro 13.3-inch with Retina Display. Apparently, these new computers will be launching sometime this month or in October.

Apple's new iMac is reportedly waiting in the wings, but there are signs the company could also update its Thunderbolt Display alongside the all-in-one desktop. Stock shortages amongh UK retailers seemingly indicate that the standalone monitor may, like its iMac brethren, be due a refresh, though it's unclear how comprehensive an update that might be. 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina panels in 2m production tips analyst

Screens for Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, the much-rumored high resolution upgrade to the company's entry-level mainstream notebook, are already in production according to analyst whispers. "The supply chain indications are that it's for a MacBook Pro 13.3" NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shin told CNET, rather than for the similarly-sized MacBook Air ultraportable. According to the estimates, meanwhile, Apple looks to be going big for the smaller Retina laptop.
