Thinner iMac with teardrop profile imminent tips board leak

Apple is tipped to be readying an imminent iMac update, with a distinctive new physical design that adopts a teardrop-shaped profile. The new all-in-one, according to details and what's said to be an internal image shared on Chinese forum WeiPhone, is "considerably thinner" than the current model, the tipster claims, with a curved rear panel and tapered edges rather than the crisper lines of today; up front, a more advanced lamination process is believed to be implemented.

Google 10-inch Samsung Nexus tablet tipped to roast iPad 3

Google's next Nexus tablet is likely to be a co-branded collaboration with Samsung, insiders claim, and giving the Nexus 7 a high-resolution 10-inch bigger brother. Unlike the budget $199 Nexus 7, NPD DisplaySearch analyst Richard Shim tells CNET, the Samsung-made "Nexus 10" will be "a high-end device" that uses a 2,560 x 1,600 display for a 299 ppi pixel density, besting what Apple currently offers on its Retina display equipped new iPad.

Welcome to Thursday evening folks - just one more day until the weekend is officially here. iOS 6 has been out for a little more than a day now, and while there are a lot of new features to get excited about, Apple's new Maps app seems to be spoiling the party. Many are bummed that Apple Maps doesn't feature public transportation routes like Google Maps, and a group of developers set out to solve that problem with a new hack. Meanwhile, Nokia took a few shots at Apple Maps today, and we found out that iOS 6 landed on 15% of all Apple devices within the first 24 hours of release.

iPhone 5 event wrap-up: details and onsite photos

It's iPhone 5 day and Apple has revealed not just the new smartphone, but a flurry of iPod devices and a brand new set of earbuds called EarPods to boot. The iPhone 5 is set to be released on the 21st of September with pre-orders starting this Friday, the 14th of September, and it'll cost the same as the iPhone 4S has costed up to this point, starting at $199 for the 16GB iteration of the phone. This update includes a 4-inch Retina display, a new Lightning dock connector, and the thinnest and lightest body for an iPhone yet despite its increased height.
