Supplies of Apple's new MacBook Pro with Retina Display continue to tighten, with online orders of the high-resolution notebook now being warned that shipping isn't expected for up to a month. The new Pro, announced at Apple's WWDC 2012 opening keynote on Monday and put up for order shortly after that, quickly saw shipping estimates stretch from an initial 5-7 working days to 2-3 weeks yesterday, and today that's stretched out to 3-4 weeks.

Further evidence of a Retina Display upgrade for Apple's new Macs has emerged, with Mac App Store apps being quietly updated to apparently support the pixel-dense panels. File sync tool FolderWatch [iTunes link] has been spotted mentioning Retina graphics in a recent update, and while Apple is yet to confirm that the new computers - expected to make their debut at WWDC 2012 next week - will indeed follow the new iPad with a high-resolution display, it's nonetheless looking increasingly likely.

iPhone 5 to use skinny 4.08-inch display tips analyst

Apple's iPhone 5 is set to have a 4.08-inch display and see a step up in resolution so as to keep the all-important Retina Display branding, an analyst claims sources in the supply chain have confirmed, taller than the existing iPhone 4S. "We expect iPhone 5 to feature a 4.08-inch in-cell IPS panel screen with a display resolution of 1,136 x 640 and 500-nit brightness" KGI's Mingchi Kuo wrote in an investor note this week, Apple Insider reports, described as a compromise between multiple factors.
