New versions of the iPhone Dev Team's PwnageTool and redsn0w iOS jailbreak tools havebeen released, to handle iOS 4.3.1. Offering a jailbreak option for the iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 (GSM version), along with the third- and fourth-gen iPod touch, first-gen iPad and second-gen Apple TV - but not the Verizon iPhone 4 or the iPad 2, yet - it's an untethered solution meaning you don't have to plug your device into a PC/Mac whenever you want to restart it.

iPad limera1n PwnageTool gets video tease

A video showing iTunes restoring an iPad to pre-jailbreak iOS firmware 3.2.2 has been uploaded by iPhone Dev Team member MuscleNerd, suggesting that the next level in hacking for the Apple slate is fast approaching.  The technique apparently uses Geohot's limera1n exploit cooked into a new version of the Dev Team's PwnageTool; the next step, according to the hackers, is taking on the new Apple TV.

Having pushed out an iOS4 redsn0w updated yesterday for the iPhone 3G, the iPhone Dev Team are back today with a new version of their PwnageTool 4.01 for the iPhone 3GS, 3G and second-gen iPod touch.  The new software works with the new iOS4 releases Apple pushed out earlier in the week, together with an updated version of the ultrasn0w baseband unlocking tool that severs the carrier lock.

Dev-Team untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.3 available

The gaggle of geeks at the Dev-Team are the folks that bring iPhone fans the jailbreaks and unlocks that they can use to set their iPhones free. Sometimes these jailbreaks required the iPhone to be tethered to computer and other times the jailbreak is able to be done untethered. The Dev-Team has announced that the jailbreak tool created by @i0n1c for iOS 4.3.1 is still working to unlock the iPhone on the new 4.3.3 iOS version.
