It appears that Sony has found themselves under attack by none other than that hacker group who's been rapidly gaining global attention via stories re: their attacks on the Westboro Baptist Church and opponents of Wikileaks, the collective known as "Anonymous." Why are they under attack? Anonymous feels as though they need to allow their customers the right to distribute information on the hardware they distribute. Seem reasonable? We've got a feeling that Sony doesn't exactly agree.

PS3 firmware v3.21 is out; where’s Geohot when you need him?

It's not just shoddy April Fools jokes that you can expect today; if you're a PS3 owner, then turning on your console - assuming it's one of the original models, rather than the newer slimline version - will leave you face to face with PS3 firmware v3.21.  Doing little more than stripping out the ability to install other OSes on the console, we're hearing that PS3s all over are being presented with the (optional) update.

PlayStation Network may have been hacked

For those of you that are PS3 users, have you had any issues signing into your PlayStation Network account lately? If so, you may have fallen victim to a recent infiltration of Sony's network.

Sony has issued a statement regarding a vulnerability in the PlayStation Network which may have allowed hackers to gain “unauthorized access” to passwords and personal info of its users. While Sony can't confirm that this has actually happened, they have chosen to alert users to the possibility.
