OUYA has taken to its Kickstarter page once again to announce that Namco Bandai is in discussions to bring its games to the Android-based console. Namco name drops some classics such as Pac-Man, Galaga, and Tekken, but it wasn’t confirmed that those specific titles would make it to the platform.
Plextor has announced a new line of SSDs, the M5S Series. The drives are based on a Marvell 88SS9174 controller and use 25nm-based NAND flash, which helps read and write speeds hit 520MB/s and 390MB/s respectively. Random read and write speeds are rated at 73,000 and 70,000 IOPS. Plextor is aiming the drives at those looking to make the jump from traditional hard drives to solid state drives for the first time.
Less than 24 hours before the biggest Google developer event of the year, Google I/O 2012, over at the Googleplex the newest Android software version has been revealed: Jelly Bean. Just as suspected due to leaks, tips, and the fact that each of the treats thus far have been alphabetically inserted, Jelly Bean will come right after the update that's live now: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now we've just got to figure out what version number this treat corresponds with, and of course what the actual software updates will be.
The Iranian oil industry reported that last month computer technicians battled a complicated computer virus. According to Iranian officials, the virus launched a data siphoning attack on key oil industry networks. To fight the complicated virus officials cut Internet links between the Iranian Oil Ministry, oil rigs, and the hub for the country's crude oil exports.
NASA is showing off the highly complicated mirror optics of the Nuclear Spectroscopic Telescope Array known as NuSTAR. That giant barrel shaped gold object is the humongous mirror optics array that will help NuSTAR to be able to see high-energy x-ray in greater detail than ever before. NASA is showing off the optics as the device is set ship out to launch pad in the Pacific Ocean on the Kwajalein Atoll.
When I was a kid Pluto was a planet. It was stripped of planet status and now is called a dwarf planet. The Hubble telescope has found evidence of complex organic molecules on the surface of Pluto. That would certainly give Pluto fans reason to celebrate Pluto again since it's not a planet any more.
