Microsoft's two million Xbox One sales are likely to grow by another million before the year is out, it's predicted, assuming retailers can keep stock on hand, though questions remain about the longevity of the next-gen consoles in the new year. The sales figure - an average of 111,111 units sold per day, Microsoft highlighted - was announced this morning, and followed Sony's 2.1m PlayStation 4 global sales stat earlier this month.

Sony is no stranger to creating odd advertisements for their products - and their not about to quit with the PlayStation 4 here at the dawn of the console's release in Hong Kong. Sony Entertainment Hong Kong have announced that they'll be doing a brand cross-promotion with the AAPE brand, part of the larger clothing brand Bape. This Bape clothing brand is based in Japan and sells simian-themed clothing originally inspired by Planet of the Apes.

Sony will disable several PlayStation Network features for the European launch of the PS4 on Friday, the company has confirmed, temporarily blocking access to the functionality in the hope of avoiding a crash as gamers rush to use their new consoles. "What's New", which is the PSN's discovery stream showing recent activity on the console by the gamer's friends, and the "Content Information Screen", which pulls friends' activity related to the current title being looked at will each be deactivated at launch.

Nintendo is in trouble this holiday season. There. I said it. After all, someone had to, right?

Twitch bans Playroom from PS4 streams

The first and thus-far only game to be banned from Twitch from the next-generation console universe has appeared this week: The Playroom. After seeing one whole heck of a lot of non-gaming action appear though the stream with the game's augmented reality PlayStation 4 Camera setup, the folks at Twitch first gave a fair warning to the world on their pre-made rules on the subject. After much consideration though, they've decided to ban the game outright.
