Four-door coupe, swoopy sedan, or slightly melted E-Class: whatever you want to call Mercedes-Benz's CLS, the company has refreshed it for 2015 complete with meaty CLS 64 AMG versions. Both the Coupe and the Shooting Brake body-styles have been given face-lifts, with tweaked designs and new Multibeam LED headlamps as an option, using cameras to monitor the road ahead as well as other traffic and adjusting the play of light accordingly.
Though the main message from Lucasfilm today is that you’ll be given the opportunity to get on-set and to be in Star Wars 7, a few more tiny bits and pieces have appeared in a presentation video from director J.J. Abrams. In the presentation video you’ll see below, you’ll be given a miniature glimpse of what’s to come from Tatooine - or something very, very similar to it - from the set in Abu Dhabi.
This week the folks behind the release of the 2014 Michael Bay film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have released the first full-length trailer. This trailer not only sets up the spot for the Shredder and April O’Neil - now Shredder’s friend’s daughter, apparently - it shoes the turtles themselves. Here we get the first official look at our four crime-fighting heroes.
Jupiter Ascending is Warner Bros. Pictures’ next sci-fi offering and looks to be pretty exciting. The teaser we just saw has all the elements of a blockbuster, and we are looking forward to its July 18th release. The movie brings together the acting talents of Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis and the creative genius of siblings Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski.
All the way over in China today we're seeing the HTC One Mini make its final trip through certification processes before it's revealed in kind to the public. While HTC hasn't yet confirmed the existence of this machine - so to speak - rumors and tips thus far appear to match up quite well with this final breath of behind-the-scenes action. Here comes HTC One's little brother, looking like a clone.
This week the folks at CyanogenMod, far and away the most popular 3rd party ROM development group, have revealed their first shot at ClockworkMod Recovery for Google Glass. This interface is one of the bare-bones first steps toward creating a slew of customized user interfaces for Google Glass, starting here with the Explorer Edition of the device. CyanogenMod developer Brint Kriebel (aka bekit) has been so kind as to provide us with some up-close photos of the software on his own Glass device, too.
On December 20, Toyota announced that it will show off its advanced active safety research vehicle on January 7, one day before the CES 2013 tech event. To get enthusiasts ready, the company has just released a sneak-peek of the car with promises of more to come during the press event it has scheduled for Monday. NASA's Curiosity rover has set mountain climbing as its New Year's Resolution, with the intrepid space explorer headed up a Martian peak for its 2013 challenge. The nine-month trek - punctuated with pitstops for drilling and sample analysis - will see Curiosity clamber up the 3 mile high Mount Sharp at the center of the Gale Crater it landed near, further hunting evidence that the red planet might once have supported microbial life. Before that, however, Curiosity couldn't resist snapping another self-portrait - with the mountain clearly visible in the background.
Nintendo's Wii U may not start shipping to eager gamers in the US until November 18, but there's the chance of an early preview of motion/tablet gameplay thanks to 5,000 Wii U kiosks across US retailers. The new booths will be revealed at select Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and Toys 'R' Us stores from today, either offering video information about the console or an actual chance to play with one of the launch titles.
