NVIDIA: 30 Tegra 3 smartphones coming in 2012

This week NVIDIA has brought forth the fury with an almost offhand mention of the fact that they’ve got plans for 28 more Tegra 3 quad-core smartphones for the year 2012. This adds to the two already announced Tegra 3 smartphones including the HTC One X which we’ve got a full review of as well as a hands-on with the other, that being the LG Optimus 4X. New devices will likely start popping up near the end of the year with 4G LTE capabilities as well via the Icera 410 for AT&T also announced this morning.

LG Eclipse photo shows removable battery and NFC

HTC and Samsung have both shown their hands of this years top of the line smartphones, but LG may still have something up its sleeve. BriefMobile has obtained more pictures of the LG Eclipse, said to be LG’s next superphone that will rival the Galaxy S III. LG details Optimus UI 3.0 for ICS phones

LG has today announced the introduction of its new user interface for LG Optimus phones running Ice Cream Sandwich. Optimus UI 3.0 will feature major modifications to the stock Android experience, offering similar features to what you might find with Sense and TouchWiz but with LG’s unique twists. LG Optimus 4X HD hitting Europe in June

Samsung: PenTile keeps you happy for longer

There's something of a spat among display enthusiasts, and not just the fans themselves: Samsung and LG have been tacitly one-upping each other over the screens in their smartphones for the last year. As videophiles are all too eager to point out, the PenTile pixel matrix that Samsung uses in most of its Super AMOLED screens is technically less sharp and dense than comparable LCD screens. In a discussion at CTIA in New Orleans, Samsung marketing manager (and regular SlashGear contributor) Philip Berne defended Samsung's choices, noting that PenTile AMOLED screens last longer than standard counterparts. Galaxy S III vs LG Optimus LTE 2

There’s a war going on out there between the international smartphone manufacturers, and at this very moment it’s being squared off between Samsung and LG. What we’ve got here are two titans, both of them having been announced just this week to the public for imminent release. The LG Optimus LTE 2 brings on a device with a screen size they’ve not yet revealed made with “True HD” IPS technology – that being more than likely much sharper than what you’ll see on the Galaxy S III, Samsung’s contribution to this equation being a full-on attack with a solid smartphone hardware arrangement and a whole new look at software.
