Google Play Edition expands: Sony Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 get pure

This week the folks responsible for socking the Google Play store with the latest and greatest in Android devices have added another LG and a brand new Sony device to their ranks. What you'll find is both the massiveness of what was called (earlier this year) the Xperia Z Ultra as well as the LG G Pad 8.3, both of them being released with "Google Play Edition" on their box. These devices will be released in a manner not unlike that of the Google Play Editions of the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.

Kobo unveils the limited edition Aura HD eReader

Kobo has just revealed its new, limited-edition E Ink Reader that will be available for pre-order beginning tomorrow for the price of $169.99. The eReader is dubbed the Kobo Aura HD, and it will be available in 3 colors: Ivory, Espresso, and Onyx (White, Brown, and Black). This new eReader is what Wayne White, the EVP and GM of Devices for Kobo, calls, "The Porsche of eReaders". He says that it pushes the boundaries of eReading, and is designed for those who are in the "driver's seat of their eReading adventures."

Sony joins multi-SIM party with Xperia tipo dual

Sony took to Facebook to launch its new Xperia miro, but didn't bother to do more than slip a few Xperia tipo and Xperia tipo dual videos onto YouTube to reveal the budget smartphone pair. Coming in single- and dual-SIM variants, the tipo has a 3.2-inch 480 x 320 touchscreen and runs Ice Cream Sandwich on an 800MHz processor. Meanwhile the Xperia tipo dual has a dedicated button on the side to switch between the two SIMs.
