NVIDIA Fermi GF100 detailed: ATI-besting GPU

NVIDIA have been spilling the beans on the Fermi GF100, the company's 40nm GPU with a full 512 CUDA cores, which they reckon will deliver not only exceptional gaming performance but film-like geometric graphics.  To do so, they've thrown out much of the traditional graphics pipeline structure and introduced far more parallel geometry processing; in fact the GF100's GigaThread engine can flip between contexts - DirectX 11 for rendering, CUDA for selective ray tracing, Direct Compute for post-processing and PhysX for simulations - in around 20 microseconds.

NVIDIA deny GTX 470 axe; hint at incoming GTX 465

After speculation earlier this week that NVIDIA had axed their GeForce GTX 470 graphics card, the company has strongly denied that they are deleting the SKU in favor of opening up their mid-range market.  Describing the GTX 470 as "our best price-performance product in the enthusiast line," the NVIDIA statement also hints that a "reasonably priced version of our GF100 [GPU]" is likely next on the cards.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 leaks, gets benchmarked

Details of NVIDIA's upcoming mid-range Fermi based video card - until now known as the GeForce GTX 460 - have leaked, with Chinese site eNet claiming to have acquired a GF100 GPU based video card.  According to their sources, the chip will show up in the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 on June 2nd; they've also been testing it, discovering that NVIDIA have disabled several elements of the GPU (the GF100 also powers the GTX 470/480) including limiting stream processors to 352 and RAM to 1GB.

NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450, 440 & 430 with Fermi GF104 tipped for June

NVIDIA's Fermi GF100-based GeForce GTX 480/470 video cards are expected to arrive sometime today, but according to the latest rumors the company is already planning their mid-range and entry-level alternatives.  Believed to be on track for a June 2010 launch at the earliest, according to 3dceter.org three of the cards will use the 40nm GF104 core with up to 256 shader cores, 64 TMUs, 32 ROPs and a 256-bit memory bus.  Although naming isn't finalised, they're believed to be known as the NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450, 440 and 430.

NVIDIA Fermi coming March 2010 tips insider

We knew that NVIDIA's Fermi next-gen graphics chipset wouldn't make an appearance at CES 2010 last week, but apparently rumors that the 40nm GPU would start hitting shelves come March 2010 are pretty accurate.  Tom's Hardware have heard from an NVIDIA partner that Fermi production will kick off in mid-February, with "low quantities" available for retail the following month.

NVIDIA Fermi GPU delayed until March 2010?

NVIDIA Fermi GPU delayed until March 2010?

NVIDIA's Fermi 40nm GPU won't make its expected late-2009 launch, and nor will it be ready in time for CES 2010 in January, according to DigiTimes' sources at graphics card manufacturers.  The rumor-mongers claim that NVIDIA have been telling producers to only expect the DirectX 11-compatible Fermi chips in March 2010, and suggest that defects have prompted the delay.
