NVIDIA delaying GPUs over subpar performance and production?

NVIDIA has reportedly delayed its GPU roadmap, pushing back the release of 28nm, 22nm and 20nm chipsets over what's said to be poor yields from production partner Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) along with underwhelming product performance. According to DigiTimes' and sources at graphics card makers, NVIDIA's 28nm Kepler GPUs - which were originally expected to begin shipping later this year - are now not expected to arrive until 2012.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti unveiled: up to 46% faster than Radeon HD 6950

NVIDIA is obviously particularly proud of its new GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU - it suggests it "pwns the gamer's sweet spot" in the press release - and at first glance the Fermi-based video card does have plenty going for it. Eight tessellation engines, a total of 384 CUDA cores, DirectX 11 support and a 52.5 billion/sec texture fill rate add up to a card 33-percent faster than the GeForce GTX 460 and up to 65-percent faster than AMD's Radeon HD 6870.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 leaks, gets benchmarked

Details of NVIDIA's upcoming mid-range Fermi based video card - until now known as the GeForce GTX 460 - have leaked, with Chinese site eNet claiming to have acquired a GF100 GPU based video card.  According to their sources, the chip will show up in the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 465 on June 2nd; they've also been testing it, discovering that NVIDIA have disabled several elements of the GPU (the GF100 also powers the GTX 470/480) including limiting stream processors to 352 and RAM to 1GB.

Ideum Platform and Pro touch tables bring on the slim

Multitouch table specialist Ideum has outed its latest finger-friendly Surface SUR40 rivals, dramatically slimming the 55-inch video furniture while simultaneously boosting power. The Platform touch table is a mere 2-inches thick, sitting on a slender central stand while still offering a larger surface than the SUR40, while the Pro touch table is chunkier but considerably more powerful, with a user-expandable HP workstation in the base.
