Nokia Lumia 1020 Review

Nokia Lumia 1020 Review

Nokia's Lumia 1020 PureView might not need an introduction, but it may need an explanation. Announced with no small amount of fanfare (and hyperbole from Nokia CEO Stephen Elop) the new Windows Phone borrows Nokia's photography tricks from the notably-niche 808 PureView of 2012, refining it with Microsoft's OS and a more streamlined form-factor to make an attempt at the mass-market. That mass-market will get the Lumia 1020 on AT&T from July 26, but the 41-megapixel marvel has already been on the SlashGear test bench, so read on for our full review.

Nokia HERE Drive+ hits rivals’ Windows Phone 8 handsets

Nokia will offer its HERE Drive+ and HERE Transit navigation apps to Windows Phone users who didn't opt for a Lumia, though they'll have to pay if they want turn-by-turn directions. The news sees HERE Drive arrive in the Windows Phone Store for the US, UK, Canada, and several other markets as a free download, though global navigation is an in-app purchase for €15.49 ($19.90) or the local equivalent.

Nokia Lumia 925 Review

Nokia Lumia 925 Review

Nokia is on a roll with Windows Phone 8 - when it comes to filling out its range, anyway. The Finnish company has spent 2013 slotting a Lumia into almost every possible gap in the market, and now has a third flagship-spec model in the shape of the Nokia Lumia 925. The latest to bear PureView branding, and arguably the best-quality handset running Microsoft's platform that we've seen to-date, the Lumia 925 ticks all the boxes on paper, certainly. Is this the smartphone to sign two years of your cellular life away to? Read on for the full review.

Nokia Lumia 720 Review

Nokia Lumia 720 Review

Nokia's Lumia range is, depending on those you ask, either getting crowded or becoming more flexible, with the new Lumia 720 slotting in-between the 620 and the older 820. With its 4.3-inch screen adding up to a pocket-friendly size, the Lumia 720 makes a strong argument for the Windows Phone midrange. Still, we've already praised the Lumia 620 for punching above its station, so does the 720 really carve out enough of a difference to make it worth consideration? Read on for the full review.

Nokia HERE Maps for iOS released

Nokia HERE Maps for iOS released

Nokia's HERE Maps has arrived in the iOS App Store, a free download intended to take on Apple's own much-maligned Maps app, though it's not quite as slick as many were hoping. The new app - which uses mapping data from Nokia-owned NAVTEQ, and supports Here.net personalized points-of-interest Collections - was announced earlier this month, though some rough edges are evident by virtue of it being an HTML5 app rather than native iOS software.

Nokia Lumia 810 Review

Nokia Lumia 810 Review

With the Nokia Lumia 810 comes T-Mobile's chance to jump aboard the Windows Phone 8 / Nokia train to victory with a slightly powered-down version of the hero Lumia line introduced earlier this year. We've got our review of the Nokia Lumia 920, a beast of a machine with its own set of top-tier features, now we see the lower end of the spectrum with the 810 and its slightly less daring smartphone body. As it turns out, much of the experience here is the same, with not a whole lot of apparent difference to be seen between this and any other high-powered Windows Phone 8 smartphone on the market thus far.

Nokia slaps HTC with Windows Phone 8 innovation snub

Nokia slaps HTC with Windows Phone 8 innovation snub

Nokia has lashed out at HTC over the 8X and 8S, dismissing the new "signature" Windows Phone 8 handsets as rebrands that are lacking in innovation. "Instead of changing a product name, we're changing the game with benefits like PureView, nav & wireless charging" Nokia executive vice president of sales and marketing Chris Weber tweeted shortly after HTC revealed its new line-up. "It takes more than matching color to match the innovation of the Lumia 920."

Samsung Galaxy Note II may hit AT&T the same day as Nokia
