The Lumia 900 has been rumored recently to be a larger version of the gorgeous Lumia 800, but beyond rumors nothing has been confirmed about this device. Hence, the Twitter exchange, although possibly a mistake, will certainly fuel more speculation.

Nokia offers Lumia 900 free in data bug mea culpa

Nokia has slashed its Lumia 900 Windows Phone flagship to free on AT&T, a temporary promotion to apologize to customers for a data connectivity glitch in early models. Described as "a gesture of goodwill" the discount - which will take the form of a $100 credit to an AT&T account for any existing Lumia 900 owner or any buyer between now and April 21 - effectively reduces the subsidized price of the handset to nothing.

Nokia and Nicki Minaj light NYC for Lumia 900 debut

Nokia lit up New York City's Time Square for a Lumia 900 extravaganza on Friday, turning to Nicki Minaj and the CGI specialists behind i-Robot for a music and light show in keeping with AT&T and Microsoft's ambitions. The event - which followed the London deadmau5 event for the Lumia 800 in November last year - paired a remix of Starships with a 200ft high video show and live dancers, a costly spectacle that will demand more than a few $99.99 AT&T Lumia 900 sales if Nokia, Microsoft and the carrier want to make their money back.

Right price, spec, buzz… so how will AT&T, Microsoft and Nokia screw up the Lumia 900?

Back in January, in the aftermath of Nokia revealing the Lumia 900 Windows Phone flagship, we argued that AT&T should price the smartphone at $100 at the most if it wanted to compete with the iPhone. Today, the carrier confirmed that it would indeed be undercutting most new handsets with a $99.99 price point - albeit with a two-year price plan - ticking off at least one box against the new Lumia's launch. Nonetheless, there are still plenty of pitfalls ahead if AT&T, Nokia and Microsoft don't want it to be game over for Windows Phone.
