Nokia Big Screen turns N8 into a Wiimote-controlled media center

Nokia may seem a little confused with its software strategy at times, but sometimes its coders come up with a great app that restores our faith in the Finns. Nokia Big Screen is the latest from Nokia Beta Labs, turning your N8 - or any future Nokia device with an HDMI output - into a media center for showing photos, music and video, and even allowing you to control it remotely with a Bluetooth device like a Wiimote.

Nokia N8 starts shipping

Nokia's N8 has begun shipping, and you do get the feeling from the company's tersely-titled press release (which you can read after the cut) that they're getting no small amount of satisfaction from proving wrong the naysayers who predicted lengthy delays.  To be fair, as we heard previously, you'll have had to be among the first batch of pre-order customers if you want to get your N8 smartish; Nokia says there'll be "broad availability" over the coming weeks.
