Nokia E6 Review

, Jul 6th 2011 Discuss [20]

BlackBerry may be the name associated with QWERTY messaging phones, but there’s a vocal cadre of Nokia users all too keen to talk about the merits of the Finnish company’s keyboard-blessed candybars. The E72 met with mixed reactions, failing to quite capture affection the way its E71 predecessor did; now we have the E6 (aka Nokia E6-00), pairing keyboard and touchscreen and offering a taste of the latest Symbian flavor, Anna. Is the E6 enough to distract us from the rapid approach of Nokia’s first Windows Phones? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

We've been gradually building a picture of the Nokia E6-00 over the past few months, but the unannounced Symbian smartphone has just seen its biggest leak to-date. A prototype has apparently found its way to the NokioTeca forums and been thoroughly snapped, tested and detailed. On the confirmed list, a VGA resolution capacitive touchscreen, paired with a physical keyboard, and an 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording. Videos after the cut Read The Full Story

Nokia T7-00 leaks (but sorry, it’s no tablet)

, Mar 26th 2011 Discuss [5]

News of a new Nokia device has leaked, courtesy of the OVI Publisher tools, the Nokia T7-00. The first of what would be a new line of nomenclature for the company, while it's tempting to think that "T" stands for "Tablet", unfortunately that doesn't seem particularly likely; well, not unless you like your slates particularly low-resolution. Nokia E6-00 leaks: Refreshed Symbian on QWERTY/touch candybar

, Mar 9th 2011 Discuss [3]

Nokia's E6-00 smartphone has leaked, the apparent successor to the Nokia E72. The QWERTY device runs Symbian^3, but unlike its predecessors has a touchscreen display for easier use. It will also run the updated version of Symbian, complete with four homescreens - rather than the three panes we've seen on the N8, C7 and E7 - and more flexible widgets. Otherwise we're expecting a 640 x 480 screen - higher than Nokia's usual nHD 640 x 360 panels - together with WCDMA/HSPA and WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, and GSM/GPRS/EDGE. There's also talk of an 8-megapixel autofocus camera complete with an LED flash, but we're yet to see the rear of the E6-00 to know for sure. Read The Full Story

, Jan 5th 2011 Discuss [3]

Nokia's nHD 640 x 360 displays have been looking all the more outmoded compared to the WVGA and higher panels rivals offer, and so rumors that the upcoming Nokia E6-00 will up the pixels on offer is a good sign that the trend is changing.
