Nokia 5800 XpressMusic hits U.S. at Cincinnati Bell

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic hits U.S. at Cincinnati Bell

Fans of the Nokia XpressMusic phones rejoice! You can now get your hands on the 5800 XpressMusic in the U.S. on Cincinnati Bell Wireless. While you could buy the device in the country before, you could only do so at an unsubsidized price, shelling out about $400.

On Cincinnati Bell, the smartphone will cost $149 with a two-year contract and a $100 mail-in rebate. But besides the lower price, this device remains the same as it is in other countries and as it's unsubsidized counterpart.

Standard features include GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a 3.2-inch 360 x 640 touchscreen, a web browser and more. We don't know if the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will make it to other U.S. carriers, but for now, at least you have one option.

Nokia’s first touchscreen handset, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, has finally found its way to our doorstep, and we've been playing with it for a week or so now. That's plenty of time to play around with all the available features, and a lot of our holiday shopping time went into this device. Codenamed the “Tube”, this handset brings a touchscreen element that Nokia has not really taken part in before. Being a mid-grade phone that is not aimed directly at Apple’s iPhone, how does it stack up?

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic ‘Tube’ hands-on first impression

We have been dying to get our hands on the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic since seeing the first leaked info. Vincent just got this device in on Friday and luckily for me he decided to let me do the review. The first thing that came to mind when holding this device was wow this is smaller than I had originally imagined. It may or may not be due to the flood of Nokia N97 pictures that I have not been able to take my eyes off of this past week. Hopefully this handset will keep us occupied for a while as we wait.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic hands-on roundup

Nokia's 5800 XpressMusic may not be intended as the flagship handset to run the S60 Touch OS, but for the moment it's the best we've got.  Hands-on reports are coming in, and while the 5800 isn't going to oust too many iPhones, first impressions seem generally good.  The 5800 is a multimedia device at heart, and the touch-sensitivity is just an indication of where Nokia is going.
