, Apr 6th 2012 Discuss [0]

I've wondered for a long time why it is manufacturers tend to make electric vehicles and hybrids so unattractive. Cars like the Nissan Leaf the Toyota Prius are boring and boxy looking. Thankfully, some companies are starting to come out with hybrids and EVs that are green and good-looking. One of the latest vehicles that falls into the green and attractive range is the Infiniti LE concept that surfaced this week at the New York Auto Show. Read The Full Story

Nissan Leaf electric car hits 10k sales in USA

, Jan 20th 2012 Discuss [32]

In what must be a positive sign for those of you out there hoping for a much more electric future for vehicles, smashing out the smoke that our combustable engines now pollute the world with at some point in the future, Nissan has announced that their 2011 sales of the all-electric Leaf vehicle have fallen just a few hundred short of the 10k mark, but have well eclipsed the number here now in the first month of 2012. The 10,000th auto to have been sold to a customer occurred sometime last week, this right before the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. This of course is nothing compared to the amount of Leaf vehicles that have been sold worldwide. Read The Full Story

, Dec 15th 2011 Discuss [1]

This year's nearest to the cup winners of the 2012 Car and Truck of the Year event have been announced, they starting out with the Ford Focus, the Hyundai Elantra, and the Volkswagen Passat on the Car side of the battle. In the Truck category you'll find no less than the Honda CR-V, the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (which I think should also get the most unnecessarily long name of the year award for all vehicles), and the BMW X3 (which is suitably short in name, of course). These three cars and three trucks were decided upon after much whittling was done across the masses of vehicles eligible for the prize this year. Read The Full Story

, Dec 15th 2011 Discuss [6]

The production of the 2012 Ford Focus EV has kicked off. Ford is stating that it expects the car to be rated at the equivalent 100 mpg. I still don't like that the ratings on EVs that don’t use gas being given in miles per gallon. An EPA rating for true driving distance would make more sense to me and make comparing EVs easier.
