Vizio has unveiled its XVT Series CinemaWide HDTV line-up, a three-strong range of new LED LCD televisions that offer movie theater-style 21:9 aspect displays. Headlining the company's 2012 TV push, the XVT Series consists of the 50-inch XVT3D500CM, 58-inch XVT3D580CM and finally the 71-inch XVT3D710CM. Philips outs new home theater gear at CES

Philips is on hand at CES and it has unveiled a new line of HD gear that geek will get excited about. The new gear includes the 4000, 5000, and 6000 series LCD HDTVs, a number of Blu-ray players, and other home theater gear. The 4000 series of LED backlit HDTVs are offered in 40", 46", and 55" screens with MediaConnect and NetTV for steaming wireless content to the big screen from the web. The sets will ship in May at $749 to $1499. Smaller screen versions at 22" and 32" will ship this month for $249.99 and $449.99. Read The Full Story

Sony's announcement about their upcoming Google TV effort didn't revolve solely around the release of HDTVs integrated with Google TV. They decided to go one step further and also release a Blu-ray disc player with integrated Google TV, too. IFA 2010 Wrap-Up

IFA 2010 isn’t quite finished yet – the show continues through until midway next week – but it’s had its stab at the major headlines. Would-be iPad “killers” and 3D were this year’s themes, with Panasonic, Sony, Sharp and others all trying to convince us that the 1080p HDTV we bought a couple of years ago should really be traded in for a new, 3D-capable set. Product of the show, though, has to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab, with the Korean company delivering a slate that we consistently heard people say was significantly more appealing than they expected.
