Tablets: A Prescription for Confusion

"It appears to be just a handful of credible entrants" said Apple CEO Steve Jobs on iPad rivals, "not exactly an avalanche." It's certainly been a shaky few weeks for tablets in general; while Apple's slate can apparently do little wrong, contributing nicely to another record financial quarter for the Cupertino company, the rest of the market is looking deeply troubled. Hey gang; it's time for another week in review. HP debuted its slick web-connected printer service on Monday. The service will let you do some cool things like print from your smartphone by emailing a document to the printer. Ahead of WWDC early Monday, AT&T started to tweak the upgrade eligibility for many iPhone 3GS owners. This was no surprise given that we knew Steve was going to be pulling that new iPhone out of his pocket a few hours later that day.

Atom CPU overclocked to 2.385GHz with liquid nitrogen

Netbook mods to date have been impressive enough.  Touchscreens, integrated GPS and Bluetooth, even full slate Tablet PC setups, we've seen them all.  Team Australia have gone a little further with their MSI Wind, though: taking advantage of the official MSI bios overclocking tool and a plentiful supply of liquid nitrogen, they've overclocked the Wind's 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor to 2.385GHz.

If it was the warmth of the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 netbook keyboard that concerned a recent reviewer, it's the size that's more of a concern for HotHardware.  In their video overview of the 10-inch budget ultraportable they outline the S10's strengths and weaknesses, contrasting the 'board with offerings from ASUS and MSI (the latter's Wind U100 having arguably taken the crown for best keys on a netbook).
