Official Apple Store grab bags have customers dropping cash on random swag

, Jan 2nd 2012 Discuss [1]

This New Years Day, yesterday for those of you living in a basement with the lights off, Japanese shoppers got a chance to pick up what's called a Fukubukuro, or "Lucky Bag," that being an official grab bag of relatively randomly assorted items from the store for their enjoyment! While we'll never, ever, ever see such an awesome situation happening here in the United States, this practice is said to have been going on each year since the onset of 2005. While most shoppers got a selection of accessories like headphones, cases, and Apple 1-inch buttons, some were lucky enough to snag gems like a MacBook Air or iPad 2. Read The Full Story

Mophie launched the Juice Pack Plus iPhone 4 protective case and battery extension back in May and now it's offering a new Outdoor Edition that comes bundled with some handy extras. And since the exterior design of the iPhone 4S hasn't changed, you'll be able to use this case for either version of the Apple smartphone. Mophie juice pack air for Verizon iPhone 4 pre-ordering now

, Feb 10th 2011 Discuss [2]

I think we can all agree that the small change to the buttons on the Verizon iPhone 4 is confusing when it comes to finding a case for the Verizon iPhone that will work. Some of the AT&T iPhone 4 cases will work and others won't. There will be a lot of Verizon iPhone 4 users that are looking for a case that has a battery inside to get more runtime from their devices and one of the best battery cases around is the juice pack air from Mophie. mophie juice pack plus review

, Dec 23rd 2010 Discuss [19]

Mophie’s Juice Pack Air for iPhone 4 impressed us back in September with its minimal bulk and ability to almost double runtime versus the standard Apple battery. Still, there are some power users – or weekend travellers – for whom “virtually double” still isn’t good enough, hence the Mophie Juice Pack Plus. Bigger battery, bigger price; is this Mophie good value or overkill? Check out the full SlashGear review after the cut.

Avi Greengart’s Last Minute, Non-Obvious Holiday Gift Guide 2010

, Dec 17th 2010 Discuss [3]

First, a confession. This guide is always “last minute,” mostly because I get so busy covering all the new devices launched just in time for the holiday shopping season that I end up starting the holiday gift guide late. Last year it was so late that I gave up and turned it into a Best Products of the Year piece instead. This year I’ve missed Chanukah but I’m still getting in ahead of Christmas, so that’s good. However, I do usually try to make this a “non-obvious” gift guide. SlashGear already has you covered if what you want advice on the best cellphone, camera, Bluetooth headset, or the like. My favorite products this year include several on that list, including Apple’s iPad, Jawbone’s ICON, Mophie’s Juice Pack Air and the 11″ MacBook Air. I’d add Amazon’s Kindle and Microsoft’s Kinect (assuming you can find one at retail). But what if you’re looking for…

mophie Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 4 packs biggest battery so far

, Dec 3rd 2010 Discuss [1]

If mophie's Juice Pack Air is a step in the right direction but doesn't deliver enough power for your liking, then the company's second model should fit the bill. The mophie Juice Pack Plus for iPhone 4 follows the same format - a plastic shell for the iPhone 4 that squeezes in more runtime as well as protecting the Apple smartphone - but throws in a 2,000 mAh battery which mophie reckons can more than double talk, media or internet browsing time.
