Apple CEO Tim Cook apologized for the sad state of Apple Maps today (recommending some other Maps apps in the process), and we took a closer look at his words in a new column. Even more surprising is the fact that the iOS App Store now features a download page specifically for other Maps applications.

Bethesda’s Skyrim was second best-selling game in 2011, MW3 was first

The fact that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 pulled in more money than any other video game in 2011 is not a surprise. Anyone could have seen that coming. But the title that managed to score second place is rightfully turning some heads. The latest entry in Bethesda's epic Elder Scroll franchise, Skrim, outsold all the others in the race to become the top non-Call of Duty title of the year. This comes despite a backlash after some PS3 users found game-crippling lag problems when playing through the open world adventure.

Online Multiplayer Gaming Is the Bane of My Existence

Over the last couple days, I’ve been playing Battlefield 3, a game that Electronic Arts said prior to its launch, could go head-to-head with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and win. But after playing through the majority of the single-player campaign, I can tell you without any reservation that it can’t do anything of the sort. In fact, Modern Warfare 3 has a much, much better single-player experience.
