Microsoft’s new tablet casts ominous shadow over Surface Pro 4

Microsoft’s new tablet casts ominous shadow over Surface Pro 4

Microsoft has quietly slipped a new Surface Pro 3 configuration into its line-up, amid speculation that the Surface Pro 4 will never see the light of day. While you might expect the new model to lower the cost-of-entry to the Windows tablet with its detachable keyboard and pen input, in fact it slots neatly into the midst of the existing range, with a Core i7 processor like the flagship Surface Pro 3 versions, but with a compromise on storage.

Microsoft unveils Atom-based Surface 3, the Pro 3’s little brother

Microsoft is adding a new Surface table to their arsenal. In an attempt to capture the attention of students, families, or anyone not enamored with the Surface Pro 3’s $799 starting price, Microsoft has the Surface 3 (non-Pro). Microsoft needs to clean the Surface Mini from its Pro 3 manual

The download, available from Microsoft's Surface support site and intended to get new owners up to speed with the core hardware and Windows 8 features, but was clearly written on the assumption that both tablets would be released.

Bill Gates AMA wrap-up: using a Surface 2 PRO, Bitcoin, Microsoft’s CEO

This morning Microsoft founder Bill Gates answered questions from users from around the world in his second "AMA" session on Reddit. It was there that he confirmed oddities small and answered questions large, building off his pre-made "myths" video released today as well. One of the first - and perhaps smallest - factoids confirmed by Gates was that the device he uses regularly is a Microsoft Surface 2 PRO.

Microsoft fixes Surface Pro 2 battery goof with new firmware

Microsoft has released its second attempt at a firmware update for the Surface Pro 2 tablet, after a December upgrade left some users with reduced battery life and a Windows 8 slate that would unexpectedly go in and out of sleep mode. The new firmware release is only of use for those Surface Pro 2 owners who managed to install the December 10th update before Microsoft pulled it following complaints.
