One of the first devices to be revealed with Windows Phone Tango on it right out of the box is the ZTE Orbit, a device revealed this week in ZTE's torrent of smartphone releases. This device is set for a second quarter release and is just about as basic and low-end specification having device you can find, it being part of Microsoft's initiative to bring more Windows Phone to the whole world, including areas where an inexpensive smartphone is the only sort of smartphone that's a reality for the general population. Google X labs plan robot researchers to map the future

Google could release a fleet of autonomous data collection robots, supplanting its current Google Street View cars insiders suggest, using robotics and AI research from the search giant's mysterious Google X incubator labs. The high-tech exploratory 'bots - which would build on Google's self-driving cars - are one of several outlandish projects currently underway among the company's more prophetic engineers and developers, according to an NY Times piece on the clandestine R&D facility. Other avenues apparently include space elevators and the "web of things" where meshes of network-enabled objects, potentially as mundane as tableware, can communicate online. Read The Full Story

Microsoft Reveals New Windows Phone 7 Mango Handsets From Samsung, Acer, And More

Microsoft's annual Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) kicked off yesterday with a keynote that had CEO Steve Ballmer acknowledging poor sales of the company's Windows Phone 7 handsets. A Week with the HTC HD7: Software

Here we are, together again. Welcome to the second installment of the week long trial run with Windows Phone 7, courtesy of the HTC HD7 on T-Mobile USA. If you’ll recall, the first article focused on the hardware, what I liked about it and what I didn’t, as well as outlining some of the things that may, or may not be, deal breakers for the consumer looking for their next device. This time around, we’re going to take a look at the software, and see how Windows Phone 7, as a whole, has been stacking up for me over the last few days. Microsoft Metro Mouse Revealed on Russian Website, Due in March

Microsoft just officially announced their brand new Arc Touch mouse, but it looks like that's not the only peripheral the Redmond-based company is hard at work on. Dell has officially announced its latest range of notebooks, the Dell Inspiron R series, aimed at home users on something of a budget.  Kicking off with the 14-inch Inspiron 14R at $479.99, before climbing through the 15.6-inch Inspiron 15R (at $449.99) and the 17.3-inch Inspiron 17R (at $529.99), the three machines offer Intel Core i3 and i5 processors, up to 8GB of DDR3 memory and optional Intel Wireless Display support.
