The incoming HTC One flagship — which we all assume is the One M9 by name — is seeing leaks spread around the web of late. Today is no different, and we’re now getting a pretty good look at what the next HTC flagship might look like in-hand. The device, which is believed to see the light of day at MWC this March, now looks to be more of an iterative update than a fresh take on the One smartphone brand.

Kim Dotcom’s MEGAchat promises encrypted video chats in browsers

Chat apps and services are one of the common targets and we've seen many old and new ones wave the encryption flag as a major feature. MEGAchat is just one of the latest to join that roster and it comes from a man who should know the situation all too well.

The service, currently referred to as MegaChat, will support all the key features of existing popular messaging clients, only with the added promise of no backdoors being provided to the US government, Dotcom claims, pointing out that it's already in fact been used in public by high-profile leakers Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. News of the app comes as fresh revelations from Snowden's NSA documents finger several services as being targeted by the spy agency.

It has been available through Mega for some time now, but began having troubles back in September when IFPI -- which represents many big-name music labels -- started hitting it with takedown requests over alleged copyright infringement. That had rolled out into a story of unknown pranksters and blindly sent takedown requests, and now months later Kim Dotcom has been banned from his own site for sharing his own album.
