Mega Man Legacy preserves the past by playing in the present

Capcom announces the Mega Man Legacy Collection, letting it be known that they'll not just be stopping here when it comes to restoring the classics. Just like we've got restoration for comic books, and we've got preservation efforts in place to keep historic buildings intact, so too will Capcom - and the rest of the gaming industry - bring back, restore, and rejuvenate classic video games from our past. This effort brings the original six Mega Man games to our present for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo 3DS, and PC this summer.

Megaman X, X2 played at the same time with same controller

Megaman X, X2 played at the same time with same controller

Some people have some insane skills. Some have an insane amount of time in their hands. And some are probably just insane. We still don't know under which category this latest YouTube gaming feat falls under, but it might as well be "all of the above". Not finding enough challenge in the Mega Man X and X2 games, YouTube user Aura Puffs took it upon himself to beat the game using the same controller, but not one after the other but at the very same time.

Mayweather/Pacquiao megafight brilliantly announced via Shots

Mayweather/Pacquiao megafight brilliantly announced via Shots

How do you go about getting some attention if you’re Floyd Mayweather? A nickname like ‘Money’ doesn’t hurt, especially after you shed the ‘Pretty Boy’ moniker. Talking about the cash you earn on social media  doesn’t hurt, either (we're definitely jealous). Having your own social platform in Shots — yeah, that’s a solid method, too. Finally facing the one fighter fans and pundits think you should before retirement is also a solid way to grab headlines. Breaking news of that fight on Shots? Brilliant.

New Megadrought may be worst in 1000 years

New Megadrought may be worst in 1000 years

If you're living in the West, you may want to start thinking about conserving your water. A group of scientists from NASA, Columbia University, and Cornell University have published a paper in Science Advances which suggests a 35-year drought - or "megadrought," as they call it - will be hitting the Southwest and central Great Plains in the near future. This will happen, they say, if we stay on our current trajectory of greenhouse gas emissions. If emissions continue as they are, there's an 80% chance, this team says, that we'll hit at least one "decades-long" megadrought between the years 2050 and 2100.

Today is no different, and we’re now getting a pretty good look at what the next HTC flagship might look like in-hand. Kim Dotcom’s MEGAchat promises encrypted video chats in browsers

Recent world events have gotten many tech companies concerned about security and privacy. Some of them have scrambled to add, enhance, or even enforce security measures like encryption while governments and their leaders, like Cameron and now Obama, have scrambled to have them blocked or at the very least weakened. Chat apps and services are one of the common targets and we've seen many old and new ones wave the encryption flag as a major feature. MEGAchat is just one of the latest to join that roster and it comes from a man who should know the situation all too well.

MegaChat encrypted Skype rival imminent says Kim Dotcom

Outspoken encryption enthusiast Kim Dotcom has promised the imminent arrival of his Skype rival, Mega's fully-encrypted video call and chat platform, which will be positioned as a pipeline for free-speech. The service, currently referred to as MegaChat, will support all the key features of existing popular messaging clients, only with the added promise of no backdoors being provided to the US government, Dotcom claims, pointing out that it's already in fact been used in public by high-profile leakers Julian Assange and Edward Snowden. News of the app comes as fresh revelations from Snowden's NSA documents finger several services as being targeted by the spy agency.
