Mass Effect 3 users considering class-action complaint against EA

It's not just the FCC that's being involved this week as users playing the latest installment in the Mass Effect series of games. Users from across the earth have come together to bring on a case against Electronic Arts saying that not only is the ending to the game a disappointment, it goes against several promises written out plainly by the developers well before the game was released. Could EA be on the receiving end of this stick of justice after all?

Happy Wednesday, everyone. As we make our way past hump day today, let's take a look at what made news in the world of tech. For starters, don't be too disappointed, but AOL has decided to kill its instant messenger program as it refocuses its struggling brand. But flipping sides to companies that are doing well today, Verizon has confirmed that its 4G LTE will be in 400 markets by the end of the year. Quite an impressive target.

Mass Effect 3 ending solidified by Director

Mass Effect 3 ending solidified by Director

It's a point of pride that the creators of the game franchise Mass Effect have on their resumes that there's not just now contention over the ending of the game, but that there's been a similar reaction each time the game's predecessors have been beaten. In an interview with the director of Mass Effect 3, Digital Trends' John Gaudiosi asked what he and the rest of the creators of the game thought about the reactions the game and its ending were getting. To his and our surprise, the "polarizing effect" the ending has created is exactly what the developers had intended.

Microsoft Xbox Live inadvertently posts Mass Effect 3 DLC

Mass Effect 3 is no doubt going to go down as one of the biggest games in 2012, but it hasn't been released quite yet. So you can imagine the surprise of Xbox 360 users when they noticed that a piece of downloadable content was put up on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Mass Effect 3 copies tied to weather balloons and sent aloft

I have played both the first and second titles in the Mass Effect franchise and these are some my favorite games ever. Being a gaming geek, I even read the book that launched about the same time as the original game. Any fan of the franchise knows the third installment is coming on March 6. If you want to get your hands on the game a full week before it hits stores, you don't need to be professional game reviewer; you just need to have some spare time.

Razer unveils Mass Effect 3 accessories and iPhone case

Razer unveils Mass Effect 3 accessories and iPhone case

It's hard to make video game aesthetics work in the real world. Halo's segmented green and Starcraft's otherworldly blue end up looking like odd residents when saddled to desktop staples or game consoles. But Bioware's Mass Effect series seems to do well when translated into physical goods, mostly thanks to the subtle red-on-black racing stripe of Commander Shepard's N7 armor. If you feel like you need a little more intergalactic style in your life, Razer's introduced a collection of accessories (both gaming and fashion) to celebrate the upcoming release of Mass Effect 3.
